De Bruyne To Spark Good Night for City
Last season, these two clubs possessed some of the most clinical strikers in world football. For the Citizens, it was Sergio Aguero, while for Los Rojiblancos their main man was Carlos Bacca.
How quickly things can change in just a few short months. Bacca is now plying his trade in Serie A with AC Milan, while Aguero is unavailable due to a hamstring strain, per BBC Sport. Will this mean the crowd at the Etihad Stadium will be feeding off crumbs? No. Sure, there is likely to be a very tense atmosphere as both sides are hungry for points, but City will have enough to win comfortably, particularly if they play to their counter-attacking strengths:
Looking at the way Manuel Pellegrini's charges overcame Bournemouth in the Premier League, it's clear this side still knows how to score without the talismanic Argentine, notwithstanding the fact Sevilla are a different outfit to the Cherries.
Having won just two league games this campaign, as well as picking up three points from a possible six in Europe, the reigning Europa League champions are a long way from top gear. A look at their defensive record this season reveals a leaky back line that has already conceded 12 domestic goals.
Yaya Toure and Raheem Sterling will take full advantage to claim a confidence-boosting win, but it's difficult to look past Kevin de Bruyne at 5/1 as the first goalscorer.
Ronaldo's Golden Boot grasp to Tighten
For Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring is an art form and for the rest of the world he is one of the most innovative master craftsmen in his field, so don't be surprised to see him rattle the net a few times against an unsettled Paris Saint-Germain defence this week.
As reported by Reuters' Julien Pretot (h/t Daily Mail), David Luiz will miss the game due to a knee injury sustained on international duty, taking a key figure away from PSG's back four.
Already this season, Ronaldo has netted five times in Europe and is the club's joint top scorer in the league alongside Karim Benzema. Add this to the fact he has just overtaken Raul as the top goalscorer in Real Madrid's history books and you wouldn't bet on him fluffing his lines any time soon.

The odds of him netting a hat-trick are pretty tempting at 20/1, especially as he will be more central to their attack than usual with Benzema and Gareth Bale out injured. What's more, he's already nabbed three European hat-tricks in his career, second only to Lionel Messi.
PSG are not as good as their two clean sheets suggest. They have not faced a stern test from a European giant yet, and PSG coach Laurent Blanc knows Ronaldo will be a handful. He said in his pre-match press conference: "He's one of the two aliens of planet football. He's good in every area. We have to make sure he has few touches of the ball. We have to keep an eye on him."
Narrow win for Monchengladbach
Borussia Monchengladbach have won four of their last five matches, so it's fair to say they've turned a corner following six defeats from their previous seven, across all competitions. On the up, they are an outfit Juventus should fear and at 22/1, a 1-0 victory looks more than plausible.
The Old Lady are in a spot of bother right now and look a shadow of their former selves. While they possess a 100 percent record in Europe this season, they have been far from scintillating, and it's hard to back them because of it.
Indeed, the Bianconeri have already lost three times this season and Squawka's Greg Lea, though quick to point out that Paul Pogba's poor form isn't entirely to blame, has underlined it as a massive reason:
"There has been a lack of drive and creativity from Pogba, who has fashioned only five chances for his teammates in the Italian top-flight – fewer than midfield colleagues Stefano Sturaro and Roberto Pereyra. Only five of his 26 shots have found the target with the spot-kick against Genoa his only goal so far.
"
With the Italian giants misfiring, Monchengladbach can steal a shock win. They just need to believe and take the game to their opponents.
