Tom SunderlandOct 20, 2015

Arsenal's first team may be struggling for form in the Champions League at present, but the north Londoners' UEFA Youth League representatives are thriving after beating Bayern Munich 2-0 to move further clear at the top of Group F on Tuesday.

The Gunners' under-19s ensured Bayern's winless start to the European season continued, while Chelsea also kept up their unbeaten Youth League campaign thanks to a 2-0 victory at Dynamo Kiev.

Elsewhere, Barcelona got their first win of the European season after beating Bate Borisov 3-0 in Belarus, climbing to the top of Group E before Bayer Leverkusen reclaimed the summit with a 2-1 win over Roma.

Recap

Arsenal's decisive win over Der FCB was perhaps nothing to be surprised at given Bayern are yet to claim even a point in their UEFA Youth League quest this season, but Alex Iwobi will nonetheless cherish a brilliant brace.

The 19-year-old nephew of former Premier League favourite Jay-Jay Okocha bagged two in the space of five minutes to fire the Gunners to three points, but it was his 74th-minute opener that dazzled most, per 101 Great Goals:

Iwobi took his exploits closer to David Hundertmark's goal for the second as he converted a cross from summer signing Donyell Malen, who was also impressive leading the line for the English hosts.

Barca thought their win at BATE might open up some daylight at the top of Group E, but Patrik Dzalto had other plans as the striker netted a 93rd-minute winner for Leverkusen in Tuesday's late kickoff.

The Germans took a 2-1 victory after Marlon Frey opened the scoring only for Ezequiel Ponce to equalise for the Giallorossi 10 minutes into the second period, but the Italians left with nothing after Dzalto's late intervention.

Barcelona were dominant on their trip to Eastern Europe on Tuesday, where BATE Borisov fell way short to hand the Blaugrana's under-19s their first Youth League win of the campaign.

Barca youth coach Gabri Garcia will have been pleased to see threats appearing from across his midfield and attack, too, as Theo Chendri, Carles Perez and Carles Alena led the 3-0 mauling in Belarus.

Just as Iwobi was at the double to deliver a maximum-point haul for Arsenal, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham matched the feat against Dynamo with a brace of his own. The Blues striker tweeted his delight following a result that keeps up Chelsea's unbeaten start:

Adi Viveash's men needed to maintain the pressure in Group G, too, considering Porto came away with a 2-0 victory of their own against Maccabi Tel Aviv, which means they remain unbeaten at home in Europe this term.

Maccabi defender Ran Vaturi was dismayed to score an own goal after just six minutes in Portugal, but the Israeli visitors gathered themselves to put up a more robust defence before Joao Cardoso clinched a second four minutes from time.

Valencia did their goal difference no harm on Tuesday after throttling Belgian contenders 5-1, where attackers Rafael Mir and Antonio Martinez were the star performers for the Spaniards.

Los Che move level on points with Group H leaders Lyon with their latest win hand, a welcome bounce back from their 1-0 defeat at the French club's hands in Week 2.

Zenit's campaign has been revived thanks to Tuesday's 3-1 win at home to Lyon, their first of the season, but Olympiakos were prevented from catching up on Arsenal after Dinamo Zagreb struck to seal a late draw.

The Greek visitors led 2-0, but the 71st-minute sending off of Athanasios Androutsos took its toll, and Dinamo struck twice in the final 10 minutes to clinch a point and stay on level terms in Group F.
