Daily Fantasy College Football Week 7: Top Sleepers and DraftKings Projections
Week 7 of the daily fantasy college football season boasts a deep early slate, so it's pivotal to uncover sleepers who can solidify your DraftKings lineup.
The matchups in the Big 12—including Texas Tech vs. Kansas and West Virginia vs. Baylor—demand attention for their high expected point totals, but be careful not to overlook the games that won't break scoreboards.
Each player listed is no higher than a mid-tier price at his position, though the emphasis is placed on cheaper options.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville ($5,800)
Finding an affordable second option and quarterback is a typical strategy, and Lamar Jackson is a perfect fit for that style because of his dual-threat ability.
The true freshman has accrued the fifth-most rushing yards by a Football Bowl Subdivision quarterback. Not only has he assembled back-to-back 100-yard performances with at least one touchdown in each game, Jackson's tallied a rushing score in each outing in which he handled the majority of snaps.
Florida State's defensive line is superb, so the Louisville running backs probably won't find much space.
But when Jackson drops back to pass, he'll regularly see a lane to scramble away from pressure. Previous quarterbacks—like Miami's Brad Kaaya—simply didn't have the speed to take advantage of that room. Jackson, on the other hand, should locate those lanes.
Projection: 212 PASS YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT; 87 RUSH YDS, 1 TD
Ralph Webb, RB, Vanderbilt ($5,400)
Vanderbilt usually isn't an ideal place to locate a valuable play for daily fantasy. However, if you want to save a little extra salary for wide receivers, looking at a high-volume back isn't a bad idea.
Ralph Webb has registered no fewer than 18 touches in each outing, and the sophomore running back has collected the second-most carries per game in the SEC.
Last week, he scampered for 155 yards and a touchdown, adding two catches for 21 yards. On Saturday, Webb will challenge the 106th-ranked South Carolina run defense that surrendered nearly 400 yards and four scores against LSU.
Webb deserves consideration as a breakout candidate in Week 7.
Projection: 124 RUSH YDS, 2 TD; 2 REC, 12 YDS
D.J. Knox, RB, Purdue ($4,100)
There's no denying the Wisconsin defense is tough. The Badgers are currently No. 22 nationally against the run. Plus, per Odds Shark, Purdue is a 23.5-point underdog.
But that means the Boilermakers will be relying on their playmakers, and D.J. Knox is one of the few who fit that billing. According to Pete DiPrimio of The News-Sentinel, Purdue coach Darrell Hazell is focused on getting the running backs more touches.

While Knox will be sharing some snaps with Markell Jones, a trend suggests Knox will receive most of them. Jones carried the load when his counterpart was injured, but Knox garnered 16 touches to the freshman's six last week.
Additionally, since the deficit will likely be large, Purdue should turn to Knox as a receiver out of the backfield. His 18 catches are the second-most on the roster.
Garbage-time yards and touchdowns don't necessarily help a team overall, but in daily fantasy, they count the same as game-winners do.
Projection: 41 RUSH YDS, 1 TD; 5 REC, 38 YDS, 1 TD
Bryce Williams, WR (TE), East Carolina ($4,100)
Isaiah Jones has earned more recognition than he gets. Three times has the standout East Carolina receiver reeled in at least 10 catches in 2015. Tulsa is certainly aware of the situation.

But whenever the Golden Hurricane pay too much attention to Jones, Bryce Williams will be there to tear apart the intermediate level—just like Oklahoma tight end Mark Andrews did to Tulsa, scoring twice.
After opening the season with a pair of 20-point DFS performances, the senior tight end slipped to 4.1 and 9.0 outputs. Last week, though, Williams snagged five passes for 87 yards.
The nation's 113th-ranked pass defense can't stop Jones, Trevon Brown and Williams, who is steadily trending upward. Expect Williams to reach the end zone during a conference meeting that has an over/under of 80, per Odds Shark.
Projection: 5 REC, 82 YDS, 1 TD
Imani Davis, WR, Akron ($3,000)
Led by quarterback Matt Johnson, Bowling Green has a prolific offense. Consequently, most opposing offenses find themselves throwing to get back in the game.
Fortunately for them, the Falcons spot a dismal pass defense. In fact, Bowling Green is the second-worst in the country, allowing 326.5 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per contest. Imani Davis should be ready to capitalize on that glaring weakness.
The senior receiver has recorded 10 catches for 186 yards and a touchdown over the last two games, so Davis should have little problem reaching double-digit points. Considering he's at the minimum $3,000 price, DFS participants can hardly ask for more.
But if there's ever a matchup for Davis to explode, it's Saturday.
Projection: 6 REC, 101 YDS, 1 TD
