David Beckham Talks Ryan Giggs, Louis van Gaal, Manchester United and More
Manchester United and England legend David Beckham is confident his former team-mate Ryan Giggs will one day be a successful manager of the Red Devils.
The Welshman is currently No. 2 to United boss Louis van Gaal, but Beckham suggests it could be a decade before Giggs is in the top job at Old Trafford despite recent indications from the Dutch manager, per David Anderson of the Daily Mirror.
When Giggs does take over as manager, though, Beckham is confident he will excel, per the Press Association's Paul Hirst (via the Daily Mail):
"I have always said that Giggsy has this streak running through him that you see in top managers. I saw it as a player. He is so determined and when you have got someone like that at a club like this, someone who is from this part of the world and knows so much about this club - it's so embedded into him - it means so much to fans, so I hope that at some point Giggsy does take over.
It might not be for the next five or 10 years but at some point it would be amazing for the fans to have him. To have Giggsy sat on the line preparing himself to become a manager is exciting.
"
Giggs took charge of four United matches in a caretaker role at the end of the 2013-14 season following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson's successor, David Moyes, after 10 months in charge.

On the arrival of Van Gaal in the summer of 2014, Giggs retreated into an assistant's role, and the pair oversaw a return to the top four of the Premier League for the Old Trafford outfit.
The new season has produced a mixed bag of results, most recently seeing the Red Devils go down 3-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium to drop to third in the Premier League.
Van Gaal has been accused of installing a "ponderous" brand of football at United, per John Dillon of the Evening Standard.
However, Beckham believes there is method in Van Gaal's approach, per Hirst (via the Daily Mail): "I would come and watch this team. To see some of the young players we have got coming through in this team, I think obviously you can see what the manager is doing. (It was) a tough result at the weekend, but we move on very quickly from these results."
United's heavy defeat to Arsenal was one of the shock results of the weekend, and Van Gaal needs to address his side's deficiencies over the international break, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
The Red Devils are only two points back from league-leading neighbours Manchester City, but they have tough matches to come against Everton and the Sky Blues.
Their results in those fixtures—and how they respond to the Arsenal drubbing—will give an indication as to whether the Red Devils are good enough to win the Premier League again for the first time since Ferguson's final season.
In Giggs, Van Gaal has a 13-time Premier League winner alongside him, and the 41-year-old's experience could prove valuable as the season draws on.
