Jurgen Klopp Rejects Mexico Job Amid Ongoing Liverpool Rumours
Jurgen Klopp reportedly turned down the managerial job with the Mexican national team as his links to Premier League club Liverpool continue.
Secretary general of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), Guillermo Cantu, said that former Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp was approached about the El Tri job, but he turned it down, per Marcaje Personal (h/t Goal.com): "We spoke to his representative, but he said he is on a sabbatical and it would not be possible now."
Klopp has been unattached since he parted ways with Dortmund after seven years at the Westfalenstadion in May 2015.

Klopp has also been touted as a potential successor for Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich when his contract runs out next summer, per ESPN FC's Mark Lovell.
Ahead of this weekend's Der Klassiker between Germany's two biggest clubs, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said he sees it as "factually conceivable" that Klopp could one day manager Bayern, per German outlet Sport Bild (h/t ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld): "It would be an unusual sight, but in the end also not a matter of our concern."

Interim manager Ricardo Ferretti oversaw an impressive draw with Argentina earlier this month and some have floated the idea of keeping him on full time, per Cesar Hernandez of ESPN FC.

However, it is no surprise that the FMF enquired after Klopp given the 48-year-old's stellar reputation after his successful spell at Dortmund.
It would be interesting to see how Klopp would fare as the manager of a national team, but it seems most likely that his next job will be back in club management in Europe.
While he could not be persuaded to end his sabbatical to take up the Mexico job it may be a different story if a club like Liverpool come calling.
