College Football's Most Important Offers of the Week
While Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and his staff are focused on trying to repeat as national champions this fall, the Buckeyes are also trying to maintain their grip on the No. 1 spot in the 2016 recruiting class rankings.
The Buckeyes currently have 19 commitments for the 2016 cycle, which means that spots are limited as Meyer and his staff try to wrap up their class in the coming months.
Last week, Ohio State offered 4-star linebacker and current Oklahoma commitment Bryce Youngquist.
As noted by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, the Buckeyes have maintained communication with Youngquist despite his pledge to the Sooners.
"They are defending national champs and No. 1 right now so yeah that is nice," Youngquist told Wiltfong. "I've been talking with Coach Luke Fickell by phone and DM."
While the offer from the Buckeyes caught his attention, the nation’s No. 12 outside linebacker and No. 171 player overall in the 2016 cycle said he is still firm with his commitment to Oklahoma at this time.
Still, that is unlikely to faze a tenacious recruiter such as Meyer. If the Buckeyes turn up the heat with Youngquist and get him to visit campus, things could get interesting with him down the stretch.

Georgia After 2017 OL
Alabama has been a thorn in Georgia’s side when it comes to the Bulldogs' quest to keep its top talent in-state.
It looks like Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt is trying to return the favor as Georgia offered 2017 4-star offensive lineman Kendall Randolph.
Randolph is the No. 21 offensive tackle and the No. 130 player overall in the 2017 class.
He already holds eight offers, including tenders from in-state powers Alabama and Auburn—with the Tide being the perceived leaders early in his recruitment.

Big 12 School Offers 2017 Florida OL Commit
West Virginia is one of the few out-of-state programs who have had success in luring prospects from the talent-rich South Florida area.
The Mountaineers are at it again after their recent offer to 3-star offensive lineman and current Florida commitment Kadeem Telfort.

The 6’6”, 306-pounder was initially committed to the hometown Miami Hurricanes before flipping to the Gators.
Time will tell if Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen and his staff can get him to switch once more.
Oregon Offers 2017 ATH
It’s not often that Pac-12 schools recruit prospects located in the heart of SEC country.
However, Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich and his staff offered one of 2017’s most talented playmakers in 4-star Alabama athlete Malcolm Askew.
The 6’0”, 175-pound Askew is rated as the nation’s No. 12 athlete and No. 121 player overall in the 2017 cycle.
While the Oregon offer is likely to catch his attention, the competition for his commitment is likely to be fierce considering he already holds more than 40 offers.
