The Buccaneers announced that Seferian-Jenkins was available against the Atlanta Falcons

Latest on Seferian-Jenkins' Practice Status

Friday, Dec. 4

The Buccaneers announced Seferian-Jenkins was a limited participant at practice for the third straight day.

Seferian-Jenkins Comments on Potential Return

Wednesday, Nov. 4

Seferian-Jenkins confessed he won't rush his recovery, per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times:

"

You have to make sure you're 100 percent. You've got to go back out there feeling you can do what you did when you left. I don't want to go out there and not give my teammates what they deserve out of me when I'm out there. They deserve that, the coaches deserve that and the fans deserve that. ...

I want to get back out there, regardless if those guys are down or up. I want to be playing football. This is what I do. This is what I love. Not to be out there really (stinks).

"

Injury Disrupted Seferian-Jenkins' Development

Seferian-Jenkins has already dealt with some disappointing setbacks in his young career, considering his potential as a second-round pick from the 2014 draft. He only played in nine games because of ankle and back injuries in his rookie season and tallied 221 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. Now, he's dealing with another injury in his second year.

The 6'5", 262-pound athletic tight end grabbed 21 touchdowns in three years with the Washington Huskies and caught Tampa Bay’s eye with a combination of size and speed that makes him dangerous in the red zone.

Brandon Myers has filled in for Seferian-Jenkins, and he isn't too far removed from a breakout campaign in 2012 with the Oakland Raiders that saw him notch 806 receiving yards and four touchdown catches.

The silver lining for the Buccaneers with this setback is the presence of a number of other offensive weapons who can pick up the slack.

Wide receiver Mike Evans acted as security blanket for Jameis Winston, while running back Doug Martin has finally been healthy again and has proved himself as a 1,000-yard back in the league.
