Twitter Reacts as Arsenal Announce Danny Welbeck Injury
When the transfer window slammed shut on Tuesday, Arsenal fans all around the world were furious that they were the only top-flight side in Europe who did not sign an outfield player over the summer. Yet that misery was compounded on Thursday when it was revealed that Danny Welbeck will be out of action until Christmas—a situation manager Arsene Wenger was aware of before the window closed (as per David Hytner of The Guardian).
Understandably, Arsenal fans are unhappy with the latest development in their underwhelming summer:

"#Arsenal fans when they hear Danny Welbeck is out for months and they didn't buy a striker... https://t.co/y5SBzuToFy

The finger is being pointed squarely at Arsene Wenger, who is perceived to have been deceptive:
"Wenger knew about Welbeck's injury and still decided to not buy a striker ffs
— ㎡esut (@OfficialMelad) September 3, 2015"
The #WengerOut hashtag has come to the foreground once again, with the Frenchman increasingly losing the faith of those who once backed him:
"Nievety or Arrogance. #Arsenal #WengerOut
— Priyank Umraode (@Umraode9) September 3, 2015"
"No excuses & you can't defend this poor management & decision making. His judgement can't be trusted anymore #WengerOut
— Memz Dogi (@Memz_Dogi) September 3, 2015"
"You're a disgrace @Arsenal - We want our club back #WengerOut
— Ozzie (@Ozzie_AFC) September 3, 2015"
Of course, when one set of fans gets upset about something, other fans will delight in the Schadenfreude. It is the natural order of things:
"It was sensible not to mention Welbeck being injured before trying to buy Benzema. Real Madrid might have upped the price from €90m to €95m

Welbeck is reportedly due back in action in January, which will be incredibly convenient timing for a manager who is usually reticent to splash the cash:
On a brighter note, at least Welbeck's setback is good news for the club's main scorer:
Aside from all of the fury and banter, there were plenty of Twitter users offering their sympathy to the injured player:
"Feel really sorry for welbeck.Even through doesn't play for united anymore. Wish him all the best with his recovery pic.twitter.com/Y1K54zBB6r
— AnthonyMartial9 (@unitedfan25) September 3, 2015"
"Aww poor Danny Welbeck, that's awful for him. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
— Sonal Raja (@Sonal_Raja) September 3, 2015"
Welbeck will find no solace in a rather worrying stat that has emerged:
As Arsenal look to continue their campaign short on staff, there is always the prospect of an emergency loan. And we know just the man for it:
"Welbeck out for 4 months... If Giroud picks up an injury... we're still all good... pic.twitter.com/mFHL8Ckq4f

Problem solved!
