Anders Lindegaard to West Brom: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More

He'd certainly become something of an outcast at Old Trafford in recent seasons.
The Danish stopper was first pushed aside by the form of David De Gea. The subsequent arrivals of Victor Valdes and Sergio Romero simply shoved Lindegaard further down the pecking order.

Lindegaard never proved a shrewd signing since former manager Sir Alex Ferguson plucked him from Norwegian side Aalesunds FK in 2010, but the Baggies remained keen and quickly pushed through a deal for the 31-year-old.
The men from the Hawthorns began exploring the signing during the last few hours of this window, according to Sky Sports. West Brom chief Tony Pulis had seen a bid rejected for Cardiff City stopper David Marshall, according to Paul Suart of the Birmingham Mail, before making his move for the Red Devils reject.
Lindegaard told his new club's official site how a talk with Pulis prompted this switch: "I had a good chat with Tony Pulis - I must call him the 'gaffer' now - and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club."
Baggies goalkeeping coach Jonathan Gould lauded Lindegaard's experience: "Anders has an international pedigree, he's a big guy and been part of a very good team at Manchester United."
Now, Lindegaard will fill in for injured No. 1 Ben Foster, another former Old Trafford 'keeper. If he recaptures his form, the Dane will represent an obvious upgrade over longtime backup Boaz Myhill.
