BeIN Sports commentator Matteo Bonetti reports the deal as having different terms to Bild's article, and he is struggling to comprehend the move given Coman's unproven status.
According to Squawka, the Frenchman successfully completed 65 per cent of his attempted take-ons in Serie A last season as well as winning 64 per cent of his tackles, which could give some insight into Bayern's thinking.
With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery now both on the wrong side of 30, the Bundesliga side have started to pursue long-term replacements for the stars and have already brought in Douglas Costa.
Arsenal are less in need of a winger than a striker or defensive midfielder, but the Gunners arguably have no natural out-and-out wide men in their senior squad, so there would be a place for Coman at the Emirates.
The 19-year-old has an exciting future ahead of him, and it seems if Arsenal wish to land the youngster they need to act quickly.
However, the Gunners are highly unlikely to compete for the player given the reported fees involved.
According to Ian Baker of the Daily Star, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger expressed his frustration at the relaxation of UEFA's financial fair play rules. He said:
"FFP is gone, I have seen the signs coming from UEFA for a while now. I thought for a while it would happen but now it is not possible...
We continue to run our business with the resources we create. We can always recreate the resources and they [Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City] can put a hundred or two hundred on top. It is always like that.
Maybe it will change here one day. I've said to you all the time it is not a shortage of money. At the moment it is a handicap to us because we have the resources, just a shortage of players.
"
As Arsenal continue their reluctance to splash the cash, they will likely only part with such large amounts on more proven prospects.
One youngster the Gunners do appear to have signed is Ipswich Town starlet Harry Clarke, according to the Sun, via Liam Corless of the Mirror.
The 15-year-old is most notable for having rounded off a magnificent team move for the Tractor Boys' youth side with a cool finish:
It's difficult to judge a player's ability from a single video of course, but the youngster will no doubt continue his development at Arsenal's academy and perhaps on a loan spell in a few years' time.
If the Gunners are lucky, they could have a future star on their hands.
