Pat Devlin to Browns: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they reached an agreement to sign quarterback Pat Devlin to provide depth behind Josh McCown with injuries mounting at the position.
Devlin, 27, joins Thad Lewis as the only healthy backups available with two preseason games left. Johnny Manziel is expected to miss at least the clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week due to an elbow injury, and Connor Shaw is out after thumb surgery.
The team's newest addition has never appeared in a regular-season game after going undrafted in 2011. He's spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and, most recently, the Chicago Bears but never got a chance to play.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Devlin started his college career at Penn State but decided to leave for Delaware after three years, including a redshirt season, to receive more playing time. He tossed 37 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions over two seasons as the Fightin' Blue Hens' starter.
The Browns simply need healthy bodies under center for the remaining preseason games. They also have former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor on the roster, but he's currently working on a transition to wide receiver.
Devlin should receive some game action for the Browns over the next couple of weeks, especially when the starters play limited snaps in the preseason finale. It's unlikely he'll make the final roster, but it's a good chance to showcase himself for other teams or a spot on the practice squad.
