Real Madrid Transfer News: Mega David De Gea Signing-on Fee Offered, Top Rumours
Real Madrid will reportedly offer Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea a staggering £12 million signing-on fee to join the club ahead of the 2016-17 season, should he remain with the Red Devils for another term.
As reported by John Cross of the Daily Mirror, Los Blancos have been in hot pursuit of the Spanish stopper all summer, but he has just one year left on his current United deal, meaning that Real can theoretically land him on a free transfer next summer. It’s claimed the aforementioned signing-on fee represents a “massive financial incentive” for De Gea to sign with Real in 2016.

Cross notes that Los Blancos do want to sign De Gea this summer, but negotiations between the two clubs are at an impasse; Madrid only want to spend £25 million, whereas United value him at £35 million.
Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has left De Gea out of the team in the club’s two matches so far this season. But as we can see here courtesy of Squawka Football, they’ve not really felt his absence too heavily:
Still, there’s little denying the Spaniard is a top quality player and someone who would make a major difference to Real between the sticks. Kiko Casilla and Keylor Navas are both strong goalkeepers, but De Gea is of genuine world-class talent. He also seems to possess the temperament required to fill the void left by the departed Iker Casillas.

For Real, getting him in now would enrich the team’s chances of major honours this season. But it’d make much more financial sense to hang fire for 12 months. With that in mind, perhaps the Red Devils will come down slightly on their asking price as the window’s end edges closer.
After all, as Paul Hayward of the Daily Telegraph noted, the situation at United is becoming a little farcical:
Either way, despite United’s reluctance to be bullied this summer, Real hold all the aces on any potential deal. If these figures are to be taken at face value, whether they get De Gea in in the coming days or next season, it’d be money well spent by the Spanish juggernauts.
Fabio Coentrao Going Nowhere

Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao will not be leaving the club this window according to football agent Ernesto Bronzetti, who reportedly has a “close relationship” with Los Blancos.
As noted by Marca, Bronzetti told FCInterNews that the only team the defender would leave the Bernabeu for is Benfica, but that he doesn’t expect any transfer to materialise:
"According to what I've been told by Real Madrid, the player will not be going anywhere, not even out on loan. At Real Madrid they are not looking to move him on, at least for the time being.
The option of the player joining Inter doesn't even enter their thoughts. If things were to change, Coentrao would only leave for Benfica.
"
Here’s a reminder of what Coentrao, who is a target for Internazionale according to the aforementioned piece, can offer at his very best:
You may have needed your memory triggered, because the Portuguese hasn’t featured all that much for Real Madrid recently. Marcelo remains the standout option at left-back option, and according to WhoScored.com, Coentrao only made five La Liga starts in 2014-15.

It’s easy to see why Los Blancos would be keen to keep the Portugal international on board. He’s an able deputy to Marcelo, after all, possessing a fine blend of attacking endeavour and defensive determination. In times of crisis, Coentrao has also showcased his versatility, filling in at right-back and even in midfield earlier in his Real career.
But as a 27-year-old, you do wonder whether a move may be the best option for Coentrao. At his peak, he’s one of the standout left-sided players in Europe, but at Real his talent has faded away on the substitutes bench. If Inter do come calling, the defender would be wise to consider their offer seriously.
