Some fans might be puzzled by the nature of the leaderboard. The American Century Championship utilizes a modified Stableford format, which assigns point totals to each score relative to par. Unlike with traditional stroke play, having the highest score is the goal.
Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost nearly earned eight points on the par-three 17th hole. His tee shot rolled to within millimeters of the cup:
Sörenstam vaulted into a share of first place with a birdie on No. 18, which netted her three points. That was only temporary as a par for Pavelski was enough to earn one point and put him back into sole possession of the top spot.
They could only watch as Fish sank his eagle putt on the par-five finishing hole.
In general, the playing conditions appeared to be much trickier Saturday compared to Friday. Pavelski's 19 points were 10 fewer than in the opening round. Curry had nine fewer.
Fish and Sörenstam were the only two to score into the 20s.
Minnesota Wild star Matt Boldy doesn't have any hope of staging a comeback. He's tied for 13th with 27 points. The 2026 Winter Olympics gold medalist did at least get to show off his unique ball marker:
Sunday's final round is scheduled to tee off at 7:45 a.m. PT, with things slated to wrap up by around 3 p.m. for the trophy presentation.
