UFC White House Faces 'Chaotic Weather,' Mosquitos, High Winds, Rain in New Forecast for Freedom 250
Sunday's UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House is reportedly facing a scary weather forecast.
According to The Weather Channel, there will be a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and wind gusts up to 34 miles per hour that could delay Sunday night's event. A lightning strike within eight miles of the area would trigger an automatic 30-minute freeze.
In addition to the storm risk, there is "brutal" humidity in Washington, D.C., that has driven the heat index into triple digits and brought "massive swarms" of mosquitoes and gnats.

UFC president Dana White previously spoke about the potential weather impact on Freedom 250 and dismissed any concerns, though he acknowledged the possibility of the event being delayed by lightning.
"We're going to be good on Sunday," White said, per Dan Gelston of the Associated Press. "I don't care if it snows, rains, we're going. Even lightning. You guys all played sports when you were growing up. Whenever there was lightning, you'd sit the lightning out. When it was over, you played. That's what we'll do."
The UFC constructed a cover over the Octagon called the Claw, which is meant to keep the mat and the fighters dry if it rains. The event is set to start at 8 p.m. ET, so the hope is that the storms pass by then.
UFC Freedom 250 is headlined by a lightweight title unification fight between reigning champion Ilia Topuria and interim champ Justin Gaethje. In the co-main event, the interim heavyweight title will be on the line as Ciryl Gane faces former middleweight and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, who could become the first three-division champion in UFC history with a victory.
