Recaps and Highlights
Troy Punches its Ticket to Omaha
Led by Tommy Egan's eight strikeouts across 7.2 innings and a balanced offensive attack, Troy knocked off Little Rock 7-2 on Saturday, advancing to the College Baseball World Series.
Troy scored in five different innings and had five different players register RBI, led by two apiece from Blake Cavill and Drew Nelson. Little Rock's Jerdy Lopez provided the best moment of the day for his side, blasting a homer in the bottom of the eighth.
But it was too little, too late as Troy advanced to Omaha.
North Carolina Stays Alive
The Tar Heels kept their season alive on Saturday, beating USC 4-0 to pull even in the Super Regionals series at one game apiece.
Starting pitcher Jason DeCaro was the hero, throwing a complete game shutout with just two hits allowed, a walk and eight strikeouts. Erik Paulsen and Colin Hynek led the offense with a pair of solo homers.
The decisive Game 3 will be played on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET (ESPN).
West Virginia Puts Up a Football Score
The Mountaineers are heading to Omaha in style after annihilating Cal Poly on Saturday by a 17-1 margin.
Cal Poly actually scored the first run of the game before West Virginia responded with a touchdown in the top of the second and 10 more runs the rest of the way.
Ben Lumsden finished with a pair of dingers and five RBI as West Virginia heads to its first College Baseball World Series in school history.
Georgia Wins a Wild One
It took 16 hits and 13 runs, but Georgia notched the opening salvo in their matchup against Mississippi State, winning 13-12 on Saturday.
Michael O'Shaughnessy's three-run shot in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the game-winner in an offensive onslaught from both teams. It was his second dinger of the game, as he finished with five RBI.
Mississippi State rushed out to a 7-0 lead by the top of the fourth, though Georgia quickly established they wouldn't be going away easily, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning.
There were plenty of fireworks to go around in this one:
