Top Clash in Italy Matches to Watch
Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu
After pushing each other to the brink at Backlash, Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will meet once again at Clash in Italy, but the stakes will be even higher this time around.
In addition to Reigns putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line, the bout will be contested under Tribal Combat rules, which is the most significant match type within the Samoan wrestling dynasty.
Reigns barely escaped with a win at Backlash, but Fatu took him out with the Tongan Death Grip afterward, and he has refused to acknowledge Reigns as the Tribal Chief despite the result of the match.
Since Reigns has made it his stated goal for Fatu to acknowledge him, he pushed for the rematch, and the Tribal Combat stipulation ensures that Fatu will have no choice other than to acknowledge Reigns if he loses again.
Reigns and Fatu have already shown that they have solid in-ring chemistry, and the No Holds Barred aspect of Tribal Combat should ensure another entertaining bout between them.
Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
Just over one month after scoring the biggest victory of his career, Oba Femi will have a chance to prove at Clash in Italy that it wasn't a fluke.
Femi needed only about five minutes to beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, and the result was so decisive that Lesnar left his boots and gloves in the middle of the ring, seemingly signaling retirement.
However, after only a few weeks away, Lesnar made his return to WWE by jumping Oba during what was supposed to be an open challenge.
Lesnar left The Ruler laying with multiple F-5s, and it wasn't long before Paul Heyman produced Raw general manager Adam Pearce with a contract for a massive rematch.
There is no shortage of intrigue surrounding Femi vs. Lesnar II since a Femi win would further cement his status as a future world champion, while a Lesnar win would perhaps set the stage for a rubber match.
Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther
Cody Rhodes has spent the better part of two years as WWE champion, but Clash in Italy may mark his toughest challenge yet.
Gunther shocked the WWE Universe a few weeks ago when he showed up on SmackDown and attacked Rhodes. It was later revealed that The Ring General used the favor owed to him by Paul Heyman to land a WWE title match.
In addition to being the longest-reigning intercontinental champion in WWE history, Gunther is a two-time world heavyweight champion, so winning the WWE Championship is the next natural step in his progression.
Rhodes has conquered every challenge placed in front of him, though, and it is fair to wonder if WWE would take the title off of him so close to SummerSlam.
Regardless of the result, Rhodes vs. Gunther promises to be a quality match, and it could even steal the show potentially.
