Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Jasper Cillessen, Mason Holgate Rumours
David De Gea's potential exit from Manchester United this summer has led the club to Ajax's Jasper Cillessen as his targeted successor, but manager Louis van Gaal could lose out to Bournemouth in the race for Mason Holgate.
The Daily Mail's Rob Draper reported that Real Madrid plan to make a £25 million move for De Gea this week, prompting speculation that Van Gaal will follow up his interest in Cillessen.

The Netherlands international worked under Van Gaal when he was at the national team's helm and was the Oranje No. 1 on their way to a third-place finish at last year's World Cup.
Cillessen has admitted he would be interested in a move to Old Trafford, should his former mentor come calling, but told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf he remains focused on Ajax matters (via James Cambridge of the Daily Express).
"Five years ago, when I was playing for NEC it would have been, because NEC to United is a very big step," he said. "Right now I'm completely focused on Ajax."

De Gea sat on the sidelines for United's Premier League-opening victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, when Sergio Romero deputised in a 1-0 win for Van Gaal's men.
Draper also revealed that Manchester United told Ajax to expect a bid for their No. 1, but his price increases the longer they decide to leave their move:
Free signing Romero has also worked with Van Gaal in the past, having won the 2008-09 Eredivisie title during their time together at AZ Alkmaar.
The Red Devils' chances of signing Cillessen are improved by the fact that he won't be cup-tied in the Champions League following Ajax's qualification exit, according to FourFourTwo's Elko Born:
Van Gaal's moves for the likes of Netherlands international Memphis Depay, former Bayern Munich man Bastian Schweinsteiger and Romero show he undoubtedly favours those whom he's worked with in the past.
The need to find a De Gea successor will be great, should the Spaniard choose to leave Old Trafford this summer, and Cillessen appears to be a logical choice to take the throne.
Bournemouth Open Talks with Mason Holgate

Premier League new boys Bournemouth have taken the initiative in their pursuit of highly rated Barnsley youngster Holgate after opening negotiations for the player this week.
Simon Jones of the Daily Mail revealed the League One outfit have given the Cherries permission to talk to the defender after accepting a bid of £1 million plus add-ons:
"Holgate, who can also play centre-back, has been training with Manchester United in recent weeks and also attracted enquiries from Everton and Aston Villa. He made 22 appearances and scored one goal during his first team breakthrough campaign last season and is keen to continue playing regularly.
"
Holgate is at an important stage in his development, where the promise of first-team football at Dean Court could be tempting, despite the potential spotlight on offer at Old Trafford.
Earlier in the year, Barnsley manager Lee Johnson admitted the allure of the Red Devils looked set to take his youngster away, per the Sheffield Star:
"There’s been a lot of interest in Mason and, at this stage it looks like we’re destined to lose him. But you never know what’s going to happen. The player can always change his mind.
It’s great for the lad to be training with Manchester United, it’s a fantastic opportunity. But of course I want him to stay and really feel as though he could benefit from a full season in our first team.
"
Holgate has made 22 senior appearances for Barnsley, including 20 in league competition, leading United to offer the starlet training experience at their Carrington ground.
Doug O'Kane of the Barnsley Chronicle admitted it's looking likely that the 18-year-old will leave their ranks this summer, with the only question being as to where his destination lies:
In any case, the full-back cum central defender seems poised for a Premier League switch, and United can afford the lowly fee linked to his signature.
That being said, manager Eddie Howe's Bournemouth may be better facilitated to offer the teenager a prominent role in their plans, giving United an unexpected bit of competition in their hunt.
