Nets Fan Vote Reveals MVP, Future Stars and the Team's Most Chaotic Personalities

Dan FavaleApr 13, 2026

We asked, you answered, and now, we can officially reveal the results for the Brooklyn Nets' batch of year-end awards!

Shout-out to everyone who participated. You played a pivotal role in helping us dole out invaluable hardware. From the Nets' MVP and most underrated player to their best trash-talker and zombie apocalypse savior, you covered all the most important bases.

So, who won each category? Let's get to the big reveals.

Stats accurate as of Sunday, April 12. Contract data via Spotrac.

Who Is the Most Valuable Player?

1 of 10
Cleveland Cavaliers v Brooklyn Nets

Winner: Michael Porter Jr.

For the 10 percent of you who refused to choose Michael Porter Jr., I have some questions. Is this a podcast-content thing? Because if so, fair. Do you think he damaged the tank too often in the early going? Because, fair again.

Ancillary options in Brooklyn are sparse. They include Egor Dёmin, Drake Powell, Noah Clowney and Nic Claxton. That in itself speaks to the hold MPJ has on this hardware.

Who Is Most Underrated?

2 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Orlando Magic

Winner: Noah Clowney

Noah Clowney's victory is well-deserved. He provides a ton of offensive dynamism when the triples are falling. Winning with just 26 percent of the vote is also a nod to Brooklyn's bread of other options.

Nic Claxton (24 percent) is treated as a negative asset in too many circles, a symptom of people conflating his offensive efficiency with overall effectiveness. The Nets have forced him to expand his skill set and have a ton of additional information on him as a result.

Drake Powell (13 percent) has at times profiled as a defensive worker bee who can knock down threes. Ziaire Williams (24 percent) has juiced his defensive playmaking and offensive utility since joining Brooklyn.

Depending on the day, you can easily venture off script to focus on Egor Dёmin's offensive scalability, Nolan Traore's on-ball speed, Day'Ron Sharpe's two-way value, Josh Minott's defensive motor, etc.

Who Is the Best Athlete?

3 of 10
Indiana Pacers v Brooklyn Nets

Winner: Drake Powell

Whether you're measuring athleticism by pop around the rim or screen navigation, Drake Powell is a quality pick. He hasn't been the most consistent and received just 32 percent of votes, but posting the highest max vert at the 2025 draft combine makes up for both.

Powell's throne did not go unchallenged. Nobody on the Nets sees a higher share of their made shots come off dunks than Nic Claxton (31 percent). And these jams aren't all traditional finishes off rim runs and lobs.

Josh Minott (26 percent) probably needed more time in Brooklyn to snare this crown but was still a factor. Ziaire Williams (10 percent) has that unassuming-looking athleticism that detracts from perception but is worth a mention, too.

Who Is Most Likely To Be a 1st-Time All-Star In the Next 5 Years?

4 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Chicago Bulls

Winner: Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. being snubbed from the most recent All-Star festivities made this a formality. At the same time, he didn't runaway with it like he did in the MVP category, receiving a strong-not-dominant 63 percent of votes.

Enter Egor Dёmin with 33 percent of the voting share. He will need to improve as an inside-the-arc creator and finisher, but the outlines of an All-Star candidate are there if you squint hard enough.

Who Has the Best Contract?

5 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Detroit Pistons

Winner: Day'Ron Sharpe

Having cheapo team options on both Day'Ron Sharpe and Noah Clowney next year is a big deal for Brooklyn. The same goes for Ziaire Williams, though the absence of a distinct career arc cost him.

Sharpe winning with 43 percent of votes is somewhat stunning. It isn't that he's not a bargain. The Nets just have so many others.

Egor Dёmin is the team's highest-ceiling rookie so far, and with three years left on his rookie scale, he'll never earn 5 percent of the salary cap. Drake Powell is even cheaper. He won't make 4 percent of the cap until Year 4.

Who Has the Worst Contract?

6 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Phoenix Suns

Winner: Terance Mann

No surprises here. Paying Terance Mann $31 million over the next two seasons (almost 10 percent of the salary cap) isn't ideal relative to what he does on the floor. He won't become eminently movable until he's an expiring deal. Paint me surprised he "only" got 54 percent of nominations.

A PSA for the 20 percent of people who gravitated toward Nic Claxton: Owing him $69.4 million over the next three years is fine. Especially on a declining scale. It's not the type of pay grade that'll guarantee Brooklyn first-round compensation.

The 17 percent of people who went with Michael Porter Jr. might be onto something. The $40.8 million price point comes off the books next year, but it's just large enough to detract from how much the Nets can command for his services.

Who Is the Best Trash-Talker?

7 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Philadelphia 76ers

Winner: Terance Mann and Ziaire Williams

Ziaire Williams flew up the trash-talk big board immediately after getting into it with Luka Dončić. Terance Mann has gotten enough techs throughout his career for chirping with other players. Each of them nabbing 28 percent of the vote fits.

Question for the 74 percent of people who didn't vote for Michael Porter Jr., though: Did you factor in unhinged viral podcast clips or nah?

Who Is Most Likely To Have a Burner Account?

8 of 10
Detroit Pistons v Brooklyn Nets

Winner: Michael Porter Jr.

Receiving 78 percent of the vote, Michael Porter Jr. wins this category in a landslide. Fittingly enough, he was the clubhouse favorite entering the proceedings.

Podcast engagement doesn't always manufacture itself, after all.

Noah Clowney deserved more than 7 percent consideration in my book. There are entirely too many fire-emoji comments under his IG posts for him not to have a burner, in my humble opinion.

Who Are You Taking With You Into the Zombie Apocalypse?

9 of 10
Atlanta Hawks v Brooklyn Nets

Winner: Jordi Fernandez.

Good job, 46 percent of Nets fans. Jordi Fernandez is clever enough to x's and o's his way to survival during an undead uprising.

Day'Ron Sharpe led all Brooklyn players with 30 percent of votes. At least two-thirds of those selections can probably be attributed to the size of his delts.

Who Is Most Likely To Be Playing Overseas In 2 Seasons?

10 of 10
Brooklyn Nets v Milwaukee Bucks

Winner: Ben Saraf

Nominating one of Brooklyn's 2025 first-rounders is the was possible incendiary response. Lo and behold, Nets fans went there. One-third of you voted for Ben Saraf!

Someone like Tyson Etienne (24 percent) or Chaney Johnson (21 percent) should be the safer selection. Yet, injuries and all, the Ben Saraf experience has been nondescript enough to step out on this limb.
