Manchester United Transfer News: Harry Kane Bid Ruled Out, Latest Rumours
Manchester United have denied claims that they have made a bid for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane following wild speculation surrounding the Englishman after he was omitted from a pre-season match.
Kane was not in the squad for Spurs' 2-0 defeat of AC Milan on Wednesday, with speculative suggestions claiming it was because United—Tottenham's opponents for the opening day of the Premier League on Saturday—had put in a huge bid for the 22-year-old, per Bruce Archer in the Express.
Sky Germany's Jan Aage Fjortoft gave two alternative suggestions for why Kane was omitted from Mauricio Pochettino's squad:

A "source close to Manchester United" has rubbished the claims, insisting no bid has been made for Kane, per Izzy Horsefield in the Express: "United say suggestions they've made a massive bid for Kane is nonsense."
United were linked with the young striker earlier in the summer, but nothing emerged from their supposed interest, per Sky Sports.
His omission from the squad on Wednesday was no doubt to ensure he is well-rested for Saturday lunchtime's clash at Old Trafford.
Even if United did want to snap up the England international, they would likely have to shell out a huge transfer fee.
Despite his youth, Kane is arguably the most important player at White Hart Lane, as without him, Spurs would be effectively striker-less.
Kane netted 21 times in his breakout Premier League season in 2014-15, and Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe is predicting another fine campaign from the forward in the coming term:
A move for Kane to Old Trafford may well be forthcoming in the future if he continues to perform at a very high level, but in the short term, he looks set to stay in north London, no doubt to the great relief of Spurs fans everywhere.
Januzaj Set for Loan Move
United winger Adnan Januzaj looks set to be sent out on loan but not until Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal is satisfied he can cope without the Belgian.
According to Richard Tanner in the Express, Van Gaal's fellow Dutchman Dick Advocaat is keen to take Januzaj to Sunderland for a short spell.
However, Van Gaal will apparently not sanction the loan switch until he has completed the widely rumoured £22 million signing of Barcelona's Pedro.
The arrival of Pedro would certainly see Januzaj's playing time limited, and a loan move could do wonders for the 20-year-old.
Januzaj's emergence was one of the few positives to come out of David Moyes' reign at the helm at Old Trafford.
Under Van Gaal, the youngster has had fewer opportunities, but his potential is still there for all to see, and a loan move in which he gets a run of games could help him fulfil his enormous promise.
