Best In the World Showcase
2 of 3Not only does the reigning world heavyweight champion cover the standard edition of WWE 2K26, but CM Punk is also the centerpiece of this year's Showcase Mode.
Featuring some of his greatest matches and a few "what ifs," the mode allows fans to relive one of WWE's greatest careers.
Historic matches relevant to the career of The Best in the World and featured in this year's Showcase Mode are:
Those matches are etched in WWE history, their significance to Punk's career undeniable. There are, though, some matches that we have yet to see out of the future Hall of Famer and a few of those are represented here, too.
One of those is not like the other, but all of the contests will give players the opportunity to collect unlockable content, including legendary Superstars, alternate attires, managers, championships, and arenas.
Revamped Island Mode
3 of 3The Island arrived in last year's WWE 2K25 release to mixed results, with many applauding the attempt at a big, new mode but criticizing it for what was essentially "pay-to-play."
This year, developers ask "what's next?" now that Roman Reigns is no longer around.
The answer? A battle for superiority between three factions.
The game's official website noted, "while each Order member is able to play every main path story, your allegiance will inform the specific viewpoint you have on events as they unfold."
That is not the only major change. That arena that The Tribal Chief so proudly reigned over? It's now a scrapyard, a combat zone that each of the Orders fights over.
In the MySuperstar mode of The Island, the inclusion of Photo Face allows players to customize their created competitors unlike ever before. World Taunts are another new addition.
Multiplayer updates in this year's Island Mode include the following match types:
Looking to build upon the foundation laid in last year's game, it will be interesting to see how player-friendly this mode will be and whether it corrected the issue from its predecessor, where one's ability to fully enjoy The Island was determined by their willingness to throw down additional coin.
