Tom Brady, Jason Kelce, Mahomes and More Celebrate USA's Gold Medal Olympic Hockey Win vs. Canada
NFL legends Tom Brady, Jason Kelce and Patrick Mahomes took to social media on Sunday to celebrate the United States beating Canada to win gold in men's hockey at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
Brady posted a photo of himself alongside Team USA superstars and brothers Jack and Quinn Hughes and Kelce hyped up the performance of American goalie Connor Hellebuyck, while and Mahomes and George Kittle showed their American pride:
Detroit Red Wings star Patrick Kane, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and many more stars chimed in:
Hellebuyck stopped 41 of Canada's 42 shots in the game, and Jack Hughes scored 1:41 into overtime to bring the U.S. its first gold medal in Olympic men's hockey since 1980.
Brady knows a thing or two about coming through in the clutch like Hellebuyck, Hughes and Team USA did on Sunday.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star is viewed by many as the greatest quarterback and player in NFL history thanks to his record seven Super Bowl wins and five Super Bowl MVP awards.
Kelce and Mahomes have experienced their fair share of glory on the big stage as well, with Kelce winning one Super Bowl and Mahomes winning three to go along with three Super Bowl MVP awards.
Meanwhile, Haliburton and Booker are no strangers to Olympic excellence, helping lead Team USA to the gold medal in men's basketball at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
USA Hockey had only won Olympic gold two times in the men's tournament before Sunday, doing so in 1960 and 1980.
The Americans lost to Canada in overtime of the Olympic gold medal game in 2010, and in overtime of the 4 Nations Face-Off final last year, so they were fighting against a long history of narrow defeats.
Team USA had momentum on its side entering the 2026 Winter Olympics, though, thanks to its first IIHF World Championship gold since 1960 last year.
The Americans also proved that they could play with the Canadians in the 4 Nations Face-Off. They simply needed a hero or two in order to get over the hump.
Hughes and Hellebuyck were exactly that, as they combined to lift the U.S. to its biggest victory since upsetting the Soviet Union at the 1980 Winter Games in Lake Placid, New York.
