Steveson had one of the most successful amateur wrestling careers in the history of the sport. He compiled a 103-3 record, was a five-time All-American selection and two-time Division I national champion while competing for the University of Minnesota.

Steveson had just one televised match in WWE against Baron Corbin at NXT The Great American Bash in July 2023. The bout ended in a double countout. WWE eventually released him in May 2024.

After finishing his college career, Steveson moved into mixed martial arts. He had his first MMA bout for the Legacy Fighting Alliance in September, defeating Braden Peterson via first-round TKO.

Steveson by defeating Kevin Hein in the first round at the Anthony Pettis FC 21 event on Nov. 23. Thursday's victory marked his third consecutive first-round stoppage win.

The 25-year-old Steveson has been open about his desire to compete in UFC, but previously said he wants to build up his body of work before walking into a major MMA promotion.
