History was made across multiple venues at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Wednesday.

Mikaela Shiffrin won gold in the women's slalom to become the winningest alpine skier in United States Olympic history.

Norway's Johannes Klaebo won his 10th-career gold medal in the men's cross-country team sprint.

Klaebo became the second-ever Olympian to record a double-digit gold-medal total. The other athlete to achieve that feat is Michael Phelps.

History was also made by Team USA in the men's cross-country team sprint, as it picked up a second medal in a sport that it typically has not had success in.

Canadian William Dandjinou, who won a silver medal in the mixed team relay earlier in the Olympics, finished in fifth place when he was issued a penalty.

While the brothers made headlines, it was Steven Dubois of Canada who took home the gold. He added the medal to the silver he won alongside Dandjinou in the mixed team relay.
