The debate is over. We can crown a champion. LeBron James is the unquestioned GOAT over Michael Jordan — in the world of card collecting, that is.
According to Cllct's Matt Liberman, a 2003 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor LeBron rookie sold for $1.11 million last week. It's the 25th card of James' to eclipse $1 million. That's not only more than Jordan but also eclipses MJ and Kobe Bryant combined.
The market for James' collectibles remains robust as he continues his 23rd season in the NBA. Companies are finding new ways to celebrate his career and create unique pieces as well.
