Mavs vs. Bucks Postponed After Flight Delays Due to Weather, DAL Stranded on Tarmac

Joseph ZuckerJan 25, 2026

The Dallas Mavericks were scheduled to play the Milwaukee Bucks at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, but flight delays due to weather will prevent the game from happening.

The Dallas Morning News' Brad Townsend first reported the potential postponement after a long day of flight issues:

Townsend reported at 1:29 p.m. the Mavs' team plane is in Dallas and "still being de-iced." NBA insider Marc Stein followed up more than an hour later to say the situation is unchanged:

The NBA already postponed Sunday's contest between the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies because of inclement weather. Another game could be trending in that direction.

A major winter storm hit a wide region of the United States this weekend, and the conditions are particularly troublesome for areas that aren't as accustomed to cold snaps.

The National Weather Service issued an extreme cold warning for Dallas and Fort Worth through 9 a.m. CT on Tuesday. The windchill could get as low as minus-10 degrees.

For the Mavs, getting into Milwaukee doesn't appear to be the issue. Flying out of their home city, on the other hand, is a different story. According to Madi Marks of Fox 4 News, almost 1,000 flights in and out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field have been canceled.

The Mavericks don't play again until Wednesday, when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bucks have Monday night off before hitting the road to play the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
