Anthony Edwards Leaves Bench in Wolves' Blowout Loss to Hawks, Called Out by HC
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was clearly frustrated by his team's performance in a 126-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
After head coach Chris Finch pulled the Wolves' starters, Edwards left the bench and went to the locker room during a timeout with 7 minutes, 52 seconds remaining. The Hawks led 109-80 at the time.
"Obviously frustrated with the performance and rightfully so, but he needs to stay out on the floor and root for his team," Finch said, per ESPN.

Edwards had a strong individual night, posting 30 points on 10-of-18 from the field along with five boards, a pair of blocks and a steal. Julius Randle posted 19 points, but no other player on the Timberwolves scored more than 10 points.
Wednesday's game continued a frustrating stretch for the Wolves, who have lost three of their last four games despite Edwards averaging 31.3 points per game during that stretch. Minnesota is sitting at 21-13 on the year in sixth place in the West.
According to ESPN, Edwards, an Atlanta native who played college basketball at Georgia, had a number of friends and family at Wednesday night's game, including his grandfather.
Edwards was ejected from last week's Christmas Day matchup against the Denver Nuggets in overtime after arguing with officials. He put up 44 points before the ejection.
After Saturday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets, Edwards said something needed to change.
"Man, I don't know, it be the same answers every time," Edwards told reporters. "I don't know, we got to change something. I don't know what it is."
Edwards is having the best season of his career so far, averaging 29.1 points, 5 boards and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from deep.
