John Cena Wins in 6-Man Tag Match During Final WWE Raw Appearance Before Retirement
John Cena took part in his final WWE Raw match before his retirement, and he went out on a high note.
The legendary wrestler won a six-man tag match at Madison Square Garden to close out his time on Raw. He also hit his signature "You Can't See Me" celebration following the win.
Cena got emotional as fans chanted "Thank you Cena" ahead of his match.
As Cena was addressing the crowd, he was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, who suggested that Cena had been handed his title shot last week without actually earning it. Mysterio then challenged Cena for his Intercontinental title, and Cena accepted, suggesting the two square off in Madison Square Garden.
But Mysterio countered by saying they should have the match in his hometown of San Diego, and Cena agreed to the terms.
"You want your rematch in your backyard at Survivor Series on ESPN? San Diego, California? You and me, for the Intercontinental Championship? No problem. I accept," Cena said.
After the two agreed to a fight in San Diego, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor entered the ring and began attacking Cena. Sheamus then came in to aid Cena, and he was later joined by Rey Mysterio.
A brief scrum ensued before Cena challenged McDonagh, Balor and Dominik to a six-man tag match against him, Rey and Sheamus. Cena, Rey and Sheamus handled business, and Cena ended his final Raw on a positive note.
Cena's final WWE match will take place on Sunday, Dec. 13, at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. His final opponent will be decided by "The Last Time is Now" Tournament, which began last week and continued on Monday.
