Logan Paul Swerve Fail, Dominik Mysterio Face Turn Loading, More WWE Raw Fallout
The November 3 edition of WWE Raw on Netflix from the Rio Rancho Event Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico featured major fallout from Saturday Night's Main Event.
CM Punk returned to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship victory and call out any and all challengers. Logan Paul arrived to claim his opportunity.
While The Maverick teased possibly helping The Best in the World against The Vision, he ended the night knocking out Punk with brass knuckles and standing with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
Asuka and Kairi Sane took down Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to solidify their claim for a Women's Tag Team Championship match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
Dominik Mysterio again faced the wrath of his father, Rey Mysterio, after insulting lucha culture.
Becky Lynch ranted and raved about her unfair treatment ahead of a final match against Maxxine Dupri soon to be confirmed.
This was a big night for setting the stage for Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29.
Logan Paul Swerve Falls Flat
1 of 5What is the point of setting up a heel turn swerve with a forever heel? While Logan Paul has briefly played the babyface in WWE, he has found all his success as a villain.
He disappeared off television after teaming with Drew McIntyre to take down Randy Orton and Jelly Roll at SummerSlam.
There was no reason to believe he had a change of heart while he was off doing side projects, so the only thing accomplished with the YouTuber was to further emphasize his unlikable status.
It would have been more surprising for Paul to show up and reveal he was working with The Vision in one segment rather than stretching it out over the whole show.
At this stage, the only obvious answer is that Paul will join Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in WarGames, though the heels still need more manpower.
Beyond that, WWE will need to do much more if it wants to sell another Paul title match.
The Maverick has already contended for three championships in past premium live events in Saudi Arabia, so the timing would line up for a challenge at the Royal Rumble in January.
Best Options for CM Punk's First Title Defense
2 of 5If WWE set up an eventual title match for CM Punk at Royal Rumble against Logan Paul while delaying the much anticipated battle with Bron Breakker, who will get the first true shot at The Best in the World?
Punk teased AJ Styles, Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus, Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and even John Cena, though the last one is highly unlikely.
Since Dominik and Sheamus seem to be caught up in an Intercontinental Championship feud and Styles is world tag team champion, Bálor would make the most sense of anyone on that list.
It is odd that LA Knight was not listed, but neither was Paul before he interrupted. It is likely The Megastar will get a shot at Punk eventually, though.
Jey Uso may also be looking for a rematch as well, but that was not a good enough contest at Saturday Night's Main Event to need a rematch, unless Main Event turned heel.
Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are long-term goals if Punk survives the likely sooner challenge of Breakker.
WWE has had a tendency to delay championship matches if it can afford to do so, but it would be much more interesting to lean into Punk's fighting champion promise.
Even one-off title matches against Styles and Bálor on Raw would be a great way to establish The Best in the World's reign until he fights competitors more likely to dethrone him.
Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss vs. Kabuki Warriors Deserves Survivor Series Spotlight
3 of 5For the first time in a long time, the women's tag team division is truly heating up. In particular, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have revitalized their careers together.
Everyone wants a shot at The Queen and The Goddess. However, no team is better established to challenge and possibly dethrone the champions than Asuka and Kairi Sane.
The Kabuki Warriors look as good as they ever have with a renewed aggression built up from their heel turn at Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley's expense.
This is a match that needs to be given the proper spotlight.
Instead, WWE announced it for next week on Raw, rushing a potential money match. It would be best if this was a fake-out or non-finish to set up a rematch at Survivor Series.
While WWE could put both teams in WarGames, it would be far more impactful for them to fight for the women's tag team titles at Survivor Series.
Leave the women's WarGames match for the other heels and faces across the division and make it clear how much the Women's Tag Team Championships matter.
Especially with many of the world titles likely caught up in the WarGames matches, this is the perfect time to find a spot for one of WWE's least represented championships.
Rey Mysterio Should Be Catalyst for Dominik Face Turn
4 of 5With Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego, the hometown of both Rey and Dominik Mysterio, the time is right for a father vs. son rematch.
These two will obviously be forever linked, but there are only two reasons to deliver another match between them now: a dramatic character change or a retirement to come.
The Master of the 619 has just returned from injury and likely is not ready to retire, so the other option feels more probable.
This can be the moment when Dominik can fully embrace the crowd reactions while Rey can turn heel for the first time in decades.
While it would be a historic moment for Rey to become a darker character in WWE, it would be far more important for Dominik to turn face.
The 28-year-old is immensely popular right now and ready to rise as far as he can with crowd support. He could genuinely become a world champion in WWE after a face turn.
Make-or-Break Moment for Maxxine Dupri On the Horizon
5 of 5Maxxine Dupri has struggled in WWE since her in-ring debut in 2023, but something recently clicked for her over three matches against Becky Lynch.
While the first match in August was a disappointment, she and The Man seemed to figure it out before their two rematches in October.
This led to the two best contests of her career, picking up two dubious wins over Lynch to set up a decisive final bout soon to be confirmed.
The Man is clearly passionate about this rivalry, delivering strong performances in the ring and on the mic to hype this angle.
It certainly helps Dupri to have a veteran (and arguably the greatest women's wrestler of all time) backing her up, but she has to deliver in this moment to make it all worthwhile.
If the 28-year-old delivers her best match ever in their final clash, win or lose, she can solidify her name among the true rising stars in WWE.
While Lynch will move onto others, Dupri can leverage this chance into fighting other great talent and hopefully building on her momentum.
If this contest fails though, it may be time to have the decisive conversation on whether she will ever figure it all out.
