Top Matches for John Cena, Brock Lesnar, AJ Lee and More After WWE Wrestlepalooza
WWE presented its debut show on the new ESPN app on Saturday with Wrestlepalooza, a show featuring stars up and down its jam-packed card.
On the heels of the show, which saw Brock Lesnar's return to the squared circle after two years, the latest stop on the John Cena Retirement Tour, and AJ Lee's first match in a decade, what awaits those top stars looking ahead?
Find out with these top matches for each star, also including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
John Cena

Wrestlepalooza Result: Cena lost to Brock Lesnar via pinfall
Of the many classic John Cena rivalries we have gotten to relive during this retirement tour, there is one that has not been hinted at, teased, or otherwise advertised that WWE should absolutely deliver before the Unseen Seventeen takes his final bow this December.
That rivalry is against AJ Styles.
The Phenomenal One is rivaled only by CM Punk when it comes to in-ring chemistry and all-time great matches with Cena. As much as the Greatest of All Time elevated Styles' star power and relevance in WWE, it was the former TNA and IWGP champion who helped take Cena's in-ring game to the next level.
While both are older now, and there is no guarantee that a five-star match would result from one last bout, the quality of that rivalry is one that should be revisited as soon as Crown Jewel on Saturday, October 11, in Perth.
A rematch with Lesnar is not out of the question, but based on their contest Saturday night at Wrestlepalooza, that would be a hard sell given the quality (or lack thereof) and fan response.
Cody Rhodes

Wrestlepalooza Result: Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre via pinfall
There is unfinished business with Drew McIntyre that will await Cody Rhodes sooner rather than later. However, The American Nightmare will attempt to successfully retain his Crown Jewel Championship on October 11,, which he earned a year ago by defeating Gunther.
His opponent?
World heavyweight champion Seth "Freakin" Rollins, with whom Rhodes had a tense staredown on the Wrestlepalooza post-show.
Rollins and Rhodes have one of the most epic trilogies in modern WWE history, culminating with the Match of the Year in 2022, the iconic Hell in a Cell that featured the latter competing with a torn pectoral muscle.
Since then, they have teamed in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Saturday, and The Visionary directly aided Rhodes in defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship just 24 hours later.
They have, otherwise, been kept apart. That should end at Crown Jewel, giving both a break from their current stories and allowing them to tear the house down in Perth.
Brock Lesnar

Wrestlepalooza Result: Lesnar defeated Cena via pinfall
There is only one match for Brock Lesnar at this point in his career that would be beneficial to the long-term success of WWE and that is against The Vision's Bron Breakker.
Breakker is the sort of dominant ass-kicker that Lesnar was and still is. He is a freakish athlete, like The Beast Incarnate, and is poised to be the future of the industry for many years to come.
A match with Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, in Las Vegas, in which he is allowed to showcase his explosiveness and defeat The Beast to secure a signature win, is the best that WWE can ask for out of this chapter of the 10-time world champion's career.
That is still a ways off, though.
Until then, perhaps it is best to utilize Lesnar as a special attraction so that he does not become watered down.
AJ Lee

Wrestlepalooza Result: Lee teamed with CM Punk to defeat Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch when she tapped out Lynch
The Mixed Tag Team Match Saturday night was a ton of fun and showcased what a match between Lee and Lynch might look like. The most logical next step is for the two of them to square off, one-on-one, with Big Time Becks' Women's Intercontinental Championship on the line.
Lee vs. Lynch is a high-profile match that should, and will, take place sooner rather than later, as it advances a story that has led to the most anticipated match on Saturday's card.
With Rhea Ripley understandably poised to take center stage in her home country of Australia, a showdown between Lee and Lynch that ranks as a legitimate main event contender on the Survivor Series card this November feels like the most logical step.
How the two navigate two months of creative without the feud getting stale remains to be seen, but it is the only sensible path given the ongoing narrative.
