On the heels of Becky Lynch forming an on-screen alliance with her husband, Seth Rollins, and then slapping CM Punk on Raw, AJ Lee is reportedly set for an imminent return to WWE programming.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), AJ is line to have a match at Wrestlepalooza on Sept. 20, and sources within WWE "indicated that it is "heavily implied" that she will "be appearing or referenced on this week's SmackDown."

Fightful (h/t Mukherjee) added that while WWE is hopeful Lee will do more than a one-off match, those in the company are "happy to have her involved again" regardless.

Last weekend at Clash in Paris, Rollins defended the World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4-Way against Punk, LA Knight and Jey Uso.

Punk was seemingly on the verge of victory when a masked person entered the ring and hit him with a low blow. Rollins took advantage and pinned Punk, and they masked assailant was revealed to be Lynch.

On Raw, Punk called out Rollins only to be confronted by Lynch instead. Becky and Punk proceeded to engage in an explosive and highly entertaining promo segment that ended with The Man slapping Punk several times.

Before exiting the ring, Punk vowed to make both Lynch and Rollins pay for what they did.

Punk was later informed by Raw general manager Adam Pearce that Friday's episode of SmackDown is in Punk's hometown of Chicago, and Punk indicated that he will be there.

It would seemingly be the perfect setting for Lee to return to WWE after more than a decade of retirement due to the hugely positive reaction she will receive should she make an appearance.

Rhodes vs. McIntyre, Cena vs. Lesnar Reportedly Planned for Wrestlepalooza

WWE is reportedly planning to add two massive matches to the Wrestlepalooza premium live event card.

According to PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship and John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar are listed internally as top matches for Wrestlepalooza.

Stephanie Vaquer vs. Iyo Sky for the vacant Women's World Championship has already been announced for the show as well, and an AJ Lee match is also anticipated.

Wrestlepalooza is the first event that will stream on ESPN Unlimited, which is ESPN's new direct-to-consumer streaming service.

WWE and ESPN announced their new partnership last month, and it seems clear that WWE is intent on loading up the Wrestlepalooza card as much as possible to start the working relationship with a bang.

There was some thought that Rhodes vs. McIntyre would happen at Clash in Paris, but Rhodes was written off television thanks to a Claymore from McIntyre through the front of the announce table.

Cody needed time away for the birth of his daughter and to film for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, but all signs point to him returning to the fold this month in order to confront and face McIntyre.

As for Cena vs. Lesnar, the seeds were planted for that match at SummerSlam when Lesnar closed the show by making his return to WWE after two years away and laying Cena out with an F-5.

Assuming Cena vs. Lesnar does indeed happen at Wrestlepalooza, it is likely safe to assume that they will compete in the main event of the night.

The Usos Reportedly Likely to Reunite vs. The Vision

The ending of Monday night's episode of Raw may have foreshadowed a potential match on the Wrestlepalooza card.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), The Usos are set to reunite for a match against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed of The Vision, and it is likely to happen at Wrestlepalooza.

In the main event of Raw, Jey and LA Knight teamed up against Breakker and Reed, only to get attacked after the match. Jimmy made a surprise appearance to save his brother, as he ran off Breakker and Reed with a steel chair.

Jey, who has been in conflict with The Vision for the past several weeks, closed Raw by telling Jimmy that he can't do it alone.

The Usos are among the greatest and most accomplished tag teams of all time, but they have only teamed up in a two-on-two tag match once this year, and not since March.

Jey was busy for much of the year, winning the World Heavyweight Championship and then pursuing it after he lost it, while Jimmy has been dealing with Solo Sikoa and the MFT on SmackDown.

Now, Jey and Jimmy appear to be on the verge of joining forces once again, and they will do so against a dominant tandem in Breakker and Reed, which was responsible for sending Roman Reigns out on a stretcher at Clash in Paris.

The Usos vs. Breakker and Reed promises to be a high-octane affair and a welcome addition to the Wrestlepalooza card should it be part of that show.
