Karrion Kross Shoots on WWE Contract Negotiation amid Rumors Surrounding Him, Scarlett
Karrion Kross provided some additional details Wednesday regarding his departure from WWE and where things currently stand between him and the company.
During an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Kross confirmed that his contract with WWE expired this past weekend, and that he did not receive a new contract offer from WWE until last week.
Kross added that WWE only gave him one day to respond to the offer, and when he requested some clarity on how WWE came up with the terms, the offer was pulled off the table:

"I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics, some analytics that's supporting to 'Hey, this is how we got here.' When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide me that information and told me I had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it.
"The next day we talk, I ask if they have the information, they don't. And I said, 'I can't make an informed decision without the information. And I'd like to keep the dialogue open.' And they rescinded the offer. That's actually where we're at."
Kross' comments came amid constant rumors and speculation regarding the status of him and his wife and on-screen manager, Scarlett, in relation to WWE.
While there has been some thought that the contract expirations were a work, especially after WWE recently pulled off a fake injury storyline with Seth Rollins, WrestleVotes reported this week that people in WWE corporate who they spoke with believe Kross and Scarlett are legitimately gone from the company.
Kross, 40, originally signed with WWE along with Scarlett in 2020, and he became an instant force in NXT.
After holding the NXT Championship twice, Kross was called up to the main roster in 2021. However, his presentation was completely changed and he never quite managed to regain his footing, leading to his release.
WWE re-signed Kross and Scarlett just nine months later, though, and in recent months he was seemingly gaining popularity.
He was most recently embroiled in a rivalry with Sami Zayn, losing a match against Zayn at SummerSlam earlier this month prior to the expiration of his contract.
Despite the ups and downs he has experienced in WWE, Kross made it clear that he and Scarlett still have a desire to return to the company, saying: "The goal has always been to be with WWE. My wife and I still want to be with WWE. I'm still at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation. We still wanna be there, we still wanna work it out."
Of course, the fact that Kross and Scarlett are now free agents means they are free to negotiate with other promotions as well, including AEW, TNA, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, MLW and a host of others.
Kross has had success elsewhere in the past, including TNA, MLW, AAA and the now-defunct Lucha Underground.
For now, Kross' second tenure with WWE appears to be over, but his comments suggest he is still open and willing to return to WWE again under the right terms.
