Seth Rollins Says Becky Lynch Was 'Upset' She Had to Lie About Injury for WWE Angle
Seth Rollins lied about his fake knee injury for three weeks until he revealed the ruse Saturday at SummerSlam en route to cashing his Money in the Bank briefcase and beating CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
On Monday, Rollins went on the Rich Eisen Show to talk about keeping things secret and noted that his wife, WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, wasn't thrilled about lying to family and friends about the matter.

"My wife is an unwilling participant in this ruse. She was very upset with me for making her lie to all of her friends and family for the better part of three weeks. She was very upset," Rollins began.
"I said, 'Honey, just trust me, the payoff will be great.'
It certainly was, as Rollins made the big reveal atop the MetLife Stadium ramp before charging to the ring, cashing in his briefcase and easily finishing off CM Punk with a Stomp for the win.
Rollins' cover went pretty deep. It began with him pretending that an awkward moonsault led to the knee injury at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 13 during a match with LA Knight.
He even guest hosted for Eisen a few dats and kept the lie going, saying that the injury would keep him out "for an extended period of time."
Rollins' young daughter, Roux, also knew that the injury was a fake. He spoke about that in detail with Eisen.
"My daughter, she thought it was a game. She thought it was a fun little game. I told her, 'Daddy's got a pretend boo boo. Let's put it that way for the next few weeks. So let's just keep that on the low, you know?'
"First thing she did is tell her pre-school teacher, Miss Joy. First thing she did. Immediately. And then of course she had to tell me that she told Miss Joy. And then she had to give me the classic, 'Nah-nah boo-boo I told Miss Joy.'
"And then I'm like, 'How am I supposed to live my life? How am I supposed to get this through, OK? Come on. Focus. Kayfabe, young Roux, kayfabe.'
"And here we are three weeks later. Nobody went to the dirt sheets or the news so we're safe. Thank you Roux. Thank you Joy. Thank you Rich Eisen. It was an honor and a pleasure. The payoff was more beautiful than I could have expected."
So now there's two champions in the family after Lynch retained her title with a successful defense over Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam. Obviously, the follow-up on Raw will be one to watch Monday night.
