Several names have been bandied about by fans as ideas for who should be John Cena's final opponent later this year, but one in particular seemed to capture Cena's attention during a recent appearance.

At Fan Expo Denver (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Cena was asked about potentially having his last match against The Rock:

Cena made it clear that while he doesn't choose his opponents, he believes having one more match against The Rock "would be cool."

At WrestleMania 28 back in 2012, Cena and The Rock faced off for the first time ever in a match that was a year in the making. The Rock was victorious, which led to Cena going on a redemption tour of sorts.

At the time, the match was billed as "Once in a Lifetime," but when The Rock beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship and Cena won the 2013 Royal Rumble match, a rematch was set for WrestleMania 29.

Cena made up for his loss at WrestleMania 28 by beating The Rock for the title at WrestleMania 29 in what was essentially a passing-of-the-torch moment.

For years after that, Cena and The Rock barely had any interactions, but that changed earlier this year at Elimination Chamber when Cena turned heel at the behest of The Rock by attacking Cody Rhodes.

The Rock removed himself from the storyline after that, but with Cena set to defend the WWE Championship against Rhodes at SummerSlam on Aug. 3, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that The Final Boss could get involved once again.

If that happens in the form of The Rock either purposely or accidentally costing Cena the title, it could open the door for a final encounter between two of the biggest stars in WWE history.

Of course, The Rock would have to commit to a match in order for that to happen, which is far from a certainty given his busy schedule.

Even if Cena vs. The Rock one final time isn't in the cards, Cena's final match in December is going to be a huge deal regardless, and perhaps one of the biggest events in WWE history.

WWE Reportedly Pivoting from Reigns vs. Breakker Singles Match

Despite some teases over the past two weeks, WWE reportedly may not be moving forward with a singles match between Roman Reigns and Bron Breakker at SummerSlam.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE's original plans called for Reigns vs. Breakker and Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed in separate matches at SummerSlam, but that may be transforming into Reigns and Uso vs. Breakker and Reed in a tag team bout instead.

On the Raw after WrestleMania 41, Reigns attempted to exact revenge against Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, but Breakker arrived on the scene and speared Reigns through the barricade, signaling his new alliance with Rollins and Heyman.

Reigns was out of action for the next few months, but he resurfaced last week on Raw after CM Punk beat Breakker in a gauntlet match to earn a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther at SummerSlam.

Breakker and Reed attacked Punk after the match, prompting Jey to attempt to make the save, but when Punk and Jey were getting overwhelmed, Reigns made a surprise return by running both Breakker and Reed off.

This week on Raw, Reigns addressed Heyman in a promo, and he had several interactions with Breakker, who was champing at the bit to get his hands on The Tribal Chief.

That segment broke down into a brawl as well, and Jey helped even the odds, resulting in another embrace between the real-life cousins.

Reigns vs. Breakker feels like an inevitability at some point, but WWE may be slow-playing it by going with a tag team match first at SummerSlam.

If that is the case, perhaps the long-term plan calls for Reigns vs. Breakker in a singles bout at WrestleMania 42.

Reported Original Plans for Styles at TNA Slammiversary

AJ Styles made his return to TNA at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on Sunday, marking the first time The Phenomenal One made a live appearance for the promotion since his departure in 2014.

Styles essentially gave his stamp of approval to Leon Slater after Slater beat Moose for the X-Division Championship, but there were reportedly different plans in place for Styles originally.

According to Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated, Styles was initially supposed to take part in a segment with Frankie Kazarian, but a late change was made.

Sources told Alba they believe plans changed due to WWE not wanting to hint at or commit to Styles having a future match in TNA.

TNA president Carlos Silva later confirmed to Alba that the creative plans for Styles at Slammiversary "changed a few times," although he did not provide additional details.

A segment involving Styles and Kazarian would have made plenty of sense since they worked together many times in TNA over the years as both rivals and partners.

Styles is widely regarded as perhaps the top star and greatest performer in TNA history, having held five world titles, six tag team titles and six X-Division titles during his legendary tenure.

He has gone on to achieve greatness in WWE as well, becoming a two-time WWE champion, three-time United States champion, one-time intercontinental champion and one-time tag team champion.

At SummerSlam, Styles will look to add even more gold to his résumé when he challenges Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.
