Seth Rollins' match against LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event was cut short due to an apparent knee injury, but conflicting reports on the severity and legitimacy of the injury have surfaced since then.

Fightful Select (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats) reported that Rollins was seen backstage at Evolution on Sunday using crutches and with his knee in a brace, which suggests the injury is real.

However, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ortman) said someone he trusts told him they heard about an injury angle on Thursday, two days before Saturday Night's Main Event. Everyone else Meltzer has spoken with believes the injury actually happened, though.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ortman) followed up by reporting that Rollins getting injured forced WWE to change the last 40 minutes of Saturday Night's Main Event on the fly since something was supposed to happen, but couldn't because Rollins was hurt.

That led to speculation about whether Rollins was perhaps planned to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during or after the World Heavyweight Championship main event between Gunther and Goldberg.

Apparently that was not the case, though, as Meltzer reported that Rollins was not supposed to cash in.

Gunther was victorious in what was billed as Goldberg's retirement match, and Gunther is now slated to defend the world heavyweight title against CM Punk at SummerSlam next month.

As for Rollins, no real update was provided regarding his status Monday night on Raw other than Paul Heyman saying he isn't concerned about Rollins' health since he has nearly a year before he has to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.

AJ Lee Reportedly Never Planned for Evolution

Despite speculation to the contrary, plans were reportedly never in place for AJ Lee to appear at Evolution.

According to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, the idea of AJ showing up at Evolution gained steam among fans when WWE posted some videos featuring her on its YouTube channel, but "there was no connection there," and a return was never in the cards.

Lee, 38, was under contract from 2009 to 2015 when she retired from pro wrestling. She has not competed in a match for any promotion since then.

Despite her relatively short time in WWE, Lee made a sizable impact, holding the Divas Championship on three separate occasions.

That included a 295-day reign, which was the second-longest in the history of the title, behind only Nikki Bella's 300-day reign.

For the bulk of AJ's WWE tenure, there wasn't much emphasis placed on the women's division, and women's matches were typically short and presented as filler rather than a featured part of the card.

Lee was at the forefront of reversing that trend, though, as she was showcased regularly with ample mic time and even had a run as general manager.

The Four Horsewomen were called up to the main roster shortly after Lee retired, and that kicked the women's evolution into overdrive, as women's wrestling became an important part of the product.

Fans have long clamored for AJ to return and mix it up with some of the top stars who she has never gotten the opportunity to go up against.

There is still no indication that Lee has any plans to return, but it seems likely that she is at least on good terms with WWE since she is married to one of the company's top stars in CM Punk.

Trish Stratus Reportedly Expected to Wrestle Again

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus turned in an excellent performance in a losing effort against WWE women's champion Tiffany Stratton at Evolution, and that may not be the last fans see of Stratus in the squared circle.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Stratus is going to wrestle again at some point in 2025.

Stratus, 49, is one of the most successful and decorated women's wrestlers in WWE history, having held the WWE Women's Championship seven times.

She retired from full-time wrestling in 2006, but she has made numerous appearances and wrestled several matches since then on a part-time basis.

At Evolution, Stratus looked as good as ever from an in-ring perspective, wrestling what was arguably one of the best matches of her career against Stratton.

Following her loss to Stratton, Stratus received a warm response from the crowd, and the commentary team speculated on her in-ring future and whether that might have been the end of the road for Trish.

However, it sounds like Stratus has at least one more match left in her, which is great news for WWE fans given how well she performed at Evolution.

Fightful didn't provide any additional information regarding who Stratus' next opponent might be or where her next match will take place, but it promises to be a big deal regardless.
