—Battle Royal for world title shot at Clash in Paris

—Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria (Women's Intercontinental Championship)
—Tiffany Stratton vs. Trish Stratus (Women's WWE Championship)
—Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley (Women's World Championship)
Let's take a look at everything that happened at Evolution 2025.
Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria
1 of 8
The PLE opened with a video package accompanied by a Katy Perry song followed by Joe Tessitore and Stephanie McMahon talking about the show.
The first match of the night saw Lynch defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Valkyria and Bayley. The crowd gave them a standing ovation before the action even started.
Bayley took Lyra down before she and Lynch started trading offense. They immediately turned this into a fast-paced match and never slowed down.
This was an entertaining contest with three very capable competitors giving it their all. It sometimes felt like they could have taken a bit more time to sell, but it's a minor complaint in the grand scheme of things.
The crowd chanted "This is awesome" a couple of times throughout the fight, which felt deserved. All three put in a lot of effort to make this as good as it was.
It looked like Bayley might win before Lynch rolled her over into a backslide to get the win and retain her title.
Result: Lynch defeated Bayley and Valkyria
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—Valkyria's wings for her entrance were so big that she couldn't hold them up while coming down the aisle.
—The way Lynch tried to pin both women at the same time was unique.
—There were several moments when someone would celebrate prematurely only to end up getting hit by someone. It's a common trope but was especially noticeable here.
—The way The Man pinned Bayley was very creative.
Jacy Jayne vs. Jordynne Grace
2 of 8
Blake Monroe accompanied Grace to the ring for her NXT title match against Jayne, who had Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx with her.
The Juggernaut hit a big right hand and suplexed Jayne out of the ring so she could hit a suicide dive to get the match started with a lot of energy.
Jayne didn't necessarily cheat, but she used some dirty tactics to gain the upper hand and slow the pace down to her liking.
While they had a lot of moments that looked great, they also had a few spots that didn't work out so well. The match as a whole was decent, but it had some notable weak points that kept it from being as good as it could have been.
Henley and Nyx were taken out by Monroe when they tried to help Jayne cheat, but then she ended up hitting Grace with the belt to turn on her and give Jayne the assist she needed to win.
Result: Jayne defeated Grace
Grade: C+
Notable Moments and Observations
—It was nice to see Mark Henry in the crowd. It was not as nice to see Vickie Guerrero.
—The way Grace sold the slingshot into the middle rope was great.
—The spot when Grace dropped Jayne onto the top turnbuckle did not go as planned. Jayne hooked her legs over the top rope and it took all of the impact away from the move.
Rodriguez and Perez vs. The Kabuki Warriors vs. Flair and Bliss vs. Ruca and Zaria
3 of 8
Ruca was looking to add a third title to her collection when she and Zaria entered the women's tag tile bout with Asuka, Kairi Sane, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
Sane and Perez began the match. Only two competitors were legal, so anyone from any team could tag in at any time. The Pirate Princess almost had The Prodigy beat within the first 30 seconds of the match.
Bliss was the most popular star in the match and got the biggest pops when she tagged in and whenever she hit a big move.
With so many people involved, it was impressive how they managed to give everyone enough time to have their own moments or two. Some had more than others, but it didn't feel like any of the eight competitors was left out.
Some of the double-team spots were creative, and it felt like everyone hit their mark on the multi-woman sequences. This is a match that won't get as much credit as it deserves.
Perez and Rodriguez were able to retain the titles when the powerhouse hit a powerbomb on Ruca for the pin.
Result: Rodriguez and Perez won
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—It still makes no sense that the WWE Speed champion never brings their belts with them to the ring unless it's during a Speed match.
—Raquel's gear had fake barbed wire around the legs. It looked like it would be very easy to catch on something and be inconvenient.
—The one thing Flair does that always looks weird is her moonsault. Landing on her feet instead of her opponent makes it look so ineffective.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Trish Stratus
4 of 8
The WWE women's title was on the line when Stratus challenged Stratton in the next match. The one-time tag team partners came into this with a lot of mutual respect.
Tiffy had the size and power advantage, so she was able to back Stratus to the corner with ease. The veteran relied on her experience to wrestle Stratton to the mat, but she wasn't able to keep the upper hand for long.
They traded slaps in a moment that upped the intensity of the fight and turned it from a friendly encounter into a more competitive title bout.
This match wasn't bad, but it felt very rehearsed at times. It lacked the kind of convincing urgency you expect in a title bout. It got more competitive over time, but it was still missing something.
Stratton got a clean win with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Result: Stratton defeated Stratus
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
—Stratton is going to need to turn heel again eventually. She is too perfect for the role to keep as a babyface for long.
—The Stratusfaction from the apron to the floor looked great.
Jade Cargill vs. Naomi
5 of 8
Naomi and Cargill have had one of the most bitter rivalries in WWE in recent months, and they were looking to wrap it up once and for all with a No Holds Barred match. Bianca Belair served as the special guest referee.
Naomi tried to attack Cargill in the aisle, but it did not go as planned and she ended up being thrown from one barricade to the other. Once they got closer to the ring, The Glow used the steel steps to inflict some damage.
It didn't take long for them to start finding weapons under the ring to use on each other. Naomi even kicked The Storm into a TV monitor and it created some sparks and smoke.
Blood isn't necessary to make a match feel violent, but with a stipulation like this, WWE's brand of PG violence restricts how intense they can make it.
They set up a table and Cargill hit Jaded from the middle rope to put Naomi through it and get the win. They did a good job with what they had, but they felt limited by the stipulation.
Result: Cargill defeated Naomi
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
—It was nice for Stratus to get a moment after the match to take in the crowd's reaction.
—Commentator Michael Cole said this was only the fourth women's No Holds Barred match in WWE history.
Battle Royal
6 of 8
Nikki Bella entered the ring first for the Battle Royal to find a No. 1 contender for the women's world title at Clash in Paris.
The match included women from Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Tatum Paxley was the first woman eliminated by Nia Jax in about 30 seconds, and she was followed by Izzi Dame.
Battle Royals that begin with everyone in the ring are always chaotic and hard to follow until the field gets narrowed down a bit, so there was a lot happening in every corner.
We saw some nice spots and eliminations, but this match also had a lot of awkward moments and near-botches. It's almost unavoidable in a bout like this, but it's unfortunate when they are front and center.
The final three competitors were Jax, Stephanie Vaquer and Lash Legend. Jax was taken out by the other two, and eventually Legend was eliminated to give Vaquer the win.
The final couple of minutes was the best part of the match. It's hard to make a Battle Royal feel unique, but this one was decent enough.
Result: Vaquer won by last eliminating Legend
Grade: C
Notable Moments and Observations
—Nikki got a big pop for her entrance.
—It might not have been the best idea to have Wade Barrett thirsting over some of the competitors.
—Kelani Jordan was one of the standouts in this match.
Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley
7 of 8
The main event of Evolution featured Sky defending the Women's World Championship against Ripley.
They started slow and paced themselves with some simple exchanges. They were playing some mind games and sizing each other up, but they also took a moment to show each other respect before they started throwing strikes.
The referee was taken out at one point, so Sky and Ripley fought into the crowd with nobody to count them out. Sky climbed up onto some production crates and hit a huge crossbody that left both women damaged.
This bout had a lot of physicality and made both look like two of the toughest competitors in the entire company. It's hard to think of anything they did that didn't look great.
The Eradicator kicked out of the Over the Moonsault and looked like she was about to make a comeback when Naomi showed up and cashed in the MITB briefcase to make it a Triple Threat.
The Glow sent Ripley into the ring post and then hit her finisher on Sky to get the win and become the new world champion.
This was a fantastic match that ended with fun cash-in and title change. It was the best way to end the event.
Result: Naomi cashed in to defeat Ripley and Sky
Grade: A-
Notable Moments and Observations
—Vaquer gave a nice speech after winning the Battle Royal.
—The aisle for the entrances looked uncomfortably narrow.
—Ripley is so good at adding facial expressions to her performance.
—The ref bump looked good.
The Final Word
8 of 8
The second Evolution PLE may not have been built up as well as the first, but it ended up being a solid event.
Vaquer winning the Battle Royal to earn a title shot was the right call, as was Cargill defeating Naomi in their No Holds Barred match.
The sleeper performance of the night was the women's tag match. All eight competitors worked hard to ensure they had a standout match, and it solidified Perez and Rodriguez as the champions following Liv Morgan’s recent injury.
None of the results were surprising, but that isn’t uncommon. What matters most is that the show was entertaining, and for the most part, it was. It had its weak points but still gave us a few hours of entertainment on a Sunday night.
Sky and Ripley gave us the best match of the night in the main event, which probably doesn’t surprise anyone. Every previous encounter they have had was great, and they have become one of the rivalries WWE can rely on to deliver every time.
However, the best moment of the night goes to Naomi. Seeing her cash in to end the show was awesome and it should be the beginning of a fun title reign.
