Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Cardi B is set to host SummerSlam next month, but she reportedly won't be the only superstar musician with a presence on the show.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Cultaholic.com's Aidan Gibbons), Jolly Roll is scheduled for SummerSlam and will have some type of involvement at the event.
WWE announced during Monday's episode of Raw that Jelly Roll will appear Friday on SmackDown in his home state of Tennessee, which could potentially set the stage for him to do something at SummerSlam.
It was previously reported by WrestleVotes (h/t Gibbons) that WWE wanted Jelly Roll to work a "small program" this summer, although it is considered "unlikely" that he will have an official match.
While Jelly Roll is currently touring, he is free on Aug. 2 and 3, which is when SummerSlam will emanate from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Jelly Roll already got a taste of SummerSlam in the past, as he appeared at last year's show in Cleveland.
In addition to singing God Bless America and his own song, Liar, Jelly Roll got physically involved by hitting Austin Theory with a chokeslam.
Even if a match isn't in the cards for Jelly Roll, it won't be a surprise if he mixes it up with a WWE Superstar once again at this year's SummerSlam.
WWE Reportedly Discussing Blake Monroe Heel Turn
Blake Monroe only recently made her WWE debut in NXT following a successful run in AEW as Mariah May, but the company is reportedly already making plans for a change in her character.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE decision-makers have discussed turning Monroe heel and potentially doing it in "the near future."
Upon debuting last month, Monroe instantly stepped up to Fatal Influence, led by NXT women's champion Jacy Jayne.
Jayne and Fallon Henley got some revenge by putting Monroe through a table during her NXT contract signing, but Monroe has since picked up an ally in the form of Jordynne Grace.
Grace won a mini tournament to earn an NXT women's title match at Evolution on Sunday, but before that, Grace and Monroe will team up against Jayne and Henley at Great American Bash on Saturday.
If Grace wins the title at Evolution, it could potentially open the door for Monroe to turn on her and win the title from Grace in the coming weeks and months.
Grace is unquestionably ready for WWE's main roster, so any title run she has could potentially be a short one and a means of transitioning the title to Monroe.
In AEW, Monroe did her best work as a heel, so it is understandable why WWE may want to position her as a villain sooner rather than later.
Long-Term Plans Reportedly in Place for Breakker Turn on Rollins
Things still appear to be in the early stages as it relates to Seth Rollins' stable, but there is reportedly already a long-term plan in place for how it is going to end.
According to BodySlam.net (h/t Gibbons), WWE's goal is for Bron Breakker to eventually turn on Rollins, although that is "still a long way off" from happening.
At WrestleMania 41, Rollins aligned himself with Paul Heyman in order to beat Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a Triple Threat match. Then, on the ensuing episode of Raw, Breakker joined forces with Rollins by helping him take out Reigns.
Bronson Reed has since joined the group as well, and with Rollins in possession of the Money in the Bank contract, they essentially hold all of the power on Raw.
Breakker said Monday on Raw that he joined Rollins and Heyman due to their vision of him being the top guy in WWE one day. While that is part of the storyline, it is also steeped in truth since there is little doubt that WWE higher-ups view Breakker as a future main eventer.
When the time comes for Breakker to turn on Rollins, the only real question is whether Breakker will go babyface or remain a heel, as he has played both roles effectively during his young career.
Per BodySlam.net, it is considered likely that Heyman will remain aligned with Breakker once the breakup happens, and that suggests Breakker will stay a heel given that Heyman has been a villain for the vast majority of his career.
