Preakness Results 2025, Finishing Times, Payouts List and Video Highlights
Journalism and jockey Umberto Rispoli provided the horse racing world with another breathtaking finish Saturday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore as they fought through a traffic jam late and sprinted past Gosger to win the 150th running of the prestigious second jewel of the Triple Crown.
It was one of the gutsiest runs in recent memory, an in-the-moment decision by Rispoli to make a move that would either doom his horse to a low finish or potential earn him a victory. As history tells us, it was the latter.
On the heels of the electrifying race, find out the finishing times, payouts, and relive some of the highlights with this recap.

Journalism Has His Day
3 of 3
Journalism was, arguably, the best horse in the Kentucky Derby. Even as he was outrun by Sovereignty late, he was the favorite to win entering that race.
It was with that same pressure on him, Rispoli, and trainer Michael McCarthy that the three-year-old colt arrived in Baltimore ready to score that elusive Triple Crown victory for his jockey and a second Preakness win for his coach.
He delivered with one of the greatest recoveries in race history.
Early on, it looked like Journalism was pinched out, toward the back of the field with nowhere to go. Instead, he proved the patient runner he has always been, staying with the pack just enough for Rispoli to make the calculated decision to push through Clever Again and Goal oriented, all while exchanging elbows with the former's jockey, Flavien Prat.
The decision to stick with the pack instead of maneuvering outside and passing them was a courageous one that other, lesser intuitive jockeys would not have made. It was the winning move, a strategy that ensured the race favorite did not settle for second or, worse, fall out of the trifecta entirely and finish well short of expectations.
Journalism will not look forward to New York and a start in the Belmont Stakes, barring any setbacks. He will almost certainly be the race favorite, even if Sovereignty, the Kentucky winner, makes his second start of the Triple Crown.
