WWE WrestleMania 41 Predictions for Most Likely Swerves

Erik BeastonApr 15, 2025

WrestleMania is WWE's biggest show of the year and as such, has historically seen to some of the biggest, most unexpected swerves in company history. From championship upsets to shocking betrayals, or simply booking decisions that buck expectations, those moments have helped define the show as the can't-miss extravaganza that it has become.

Ahead of the 41st WrestleMania in WWE history, find out which swerves are most likely when WWE takes over Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium for the Show of Shows.

Tiffany Stratton Upsets Charlotte Flair

SmackDown

Anyone paying attention to WWE over the last decade knows Charlotte Flair is a safe bet to win anytime she sets foot in the squared circle. Even more so when a championship is on the line. A 14-time champion, she has a rich history of big match victories against a who's who of future Hall of Famer.

Tiffany Stratton, for all that she has already accomplished, is still relatively unproven, especially on the WrestleMania stage. This is the WWE women's champion's first appearance on the grand stage and a defense against the standard-bearer of the division is a daunting task. She has shown out and shined against top stars before but at WrestleMania, against The Queen, is an entirely different beast. It is the biggest match of her young career and one she should not be favored in based on a multitude of factors.

A swerve victory that see Stratton defeat Flair and retain her title would not only legitimize her as a champion but silence her doubters as well. It would be an emphatic announcement to the rest of the wrestling world that she is the future of the industry. Based on Triple H's booking tendencies, that is not out of the question.

Bianca Belair Does Not Turn Heel

Outside of hints of a new attitude, Bianca Belair has not done anything to indicate a heel turn is imminent at WrestleMania. She expressed shock when Naomi revealed that she attacked Jade Cargill and was justified in her frustration over the addition of Rhea Ripley to the Women's World Championship Match in Las Vegas.

She has remained the same strong, confident woman she has always been, even if fans have begun to greet her with boos.

The idea that she had nothing to do with the Cargill attack, but also did not search high and low for the assailant, rubbed fans the wrong way and created an air of suspicion around her. Still, she never came to Naomi's aid not stopped Cargill from attacking, something one would assume a cohort of Naomi's would have done.

There is an expectation that The EST will turn heel and while that is certainly a direction things appear to be heading in the eyes of the fans, a very possible swerve would see Belair not make that turn at WrestleMania and remain a babyface for the foreseeable future.

Paul Heyman Does Not Turn on Anyone

From the moment that Paul Heyman became a central figure in the Triple Threat Match between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk, as part of the latter's "favor" story, it felt like The Wise Man was destined to turn on someone come WrestleMania.

With Heyman apparently owing Rollins a favor of his own after The Visionary spared him from a stomp, Rollins would be the obvious candidate for Heyman to align himself with after betraying his Tribal Chief and best friend.

With WWE's commitment to long-term storytelling, a sudden and abrupt turn would be out of character. Yes, Heyman has teased that his loyalties may not lie with Reigns over the last year, but it has been long enough since he hinted at a potential turn.

A screwy finish that calls into question what he was thinking and creates suspicion is the most logical finish, not a turn for turn's sake. That makes Heyman not turning, but being in the center of a greater conflict coming out of the Show of Shows, the more likely swerve.

Cody Rhodes Retains vs. John Cena

4 of 4
Monday Night RAW

At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finished his story and won the Undisputed WWE Championship. He arrives in Las Vegas for this year's Showcase of the Immortals celebrating one year as champions and the so-called "quarterback" of WWE. His opponent? The former QB1 of the company, John Cena.

Cena is fresh off a shocking heel turn at March's Elimination Chamber, a moment a generation of fans who looked up to him never believed would happen. A 16-time world champion, he seeks to break Hall of Famer Ric Flair's record by defeating Rhodes and winning No. 17.

Most understandably expect Cena to win, be it fairly or with an assist from The Rock. It makes sense because Cena almost certainly did not turn heel just to lose in his first match. It would allow him to embark on a historic reign, add more heat to his heel character, and freshen up the top of the card.

What if he lost, though, and had to look within and ask himself why giving up everything he built did not work and what it means for his future?

The world of WWE has taught fans to expect the unexpected and that narrative for Cena, lost and unsure of who he is at this point, is such a swerve that easily close out this year's show.
