Bryson DeChambeau Says Rory McIlroy Didn't Talk to Him During Final Round of Masters
On his way to winning his first Masters title on Sunday, Rory McIlroy took a silent approach to the final round.
Bryson DeChambeau, who was grouped with McIlroy on Sunday, told reporters after the round that the Irishman "didn't talk to me once all day."

Controversial Usyk TKO Win 🤔
DeChambeau entered the final round trailing McIlroy by just two shots for the lead. He had some early success with a birdie on the second hole that gave him a very brief lead, but things quickly fell off the rails. He bogeyed the next two holes before a double bogey on the 11th. He didn't record another birdie until the 14th, and he finished with just three on his way to shooting three-over 75 in the final round and tying for fifth in the tournament.
McIlroy also had a turbulent day on Sunday, so it's understandable that he wasn't in the mood to converse with DeChambeau. The 35-year-old double-bogeyed the opening hole, setting the stage for a dramatic day.
As Justin Rose surged up the leaderboard with a six-under 66 in the final round, McIlroy appeared to be in control when he took a one-shot lead with a birdie on the 17th. Unfortunately, he bogeyed the 18th hole, putting him in a tie with Rose and forcing a one-shot playoff.
Luckily for McIlroy, he got a second chance to rectify his mistakes on the 18th hole, and he rose to the occasion. He recorded a birdie to win the playoff and earn his first career green jacket. He's now the sixth player ever to complete the career grand slam.
Now that he's a Masters champion, perhaps McIlroy will become more chatty on the green and DeChambeau will get the conversation he was hoping for the next time they're paired together.
