WWE WrestleMania 41: What To Expect in Las Vegas
For the first time since 1993, WWE rolls into Las Vegas on April 19 and 20 for its annual showcase, WrestleMania.
The 41st entry in the event's long and illustrious history, the extravaganza is headlined this year by John Cena challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship Match while Jey Uso will fight to wrest the world title away from Gunther.
What can fans expect from those matches and more?
Find out with this early preview of the 2025 edition of the Showcase of the Immortals.
The Ultimate Villain
1 of 4
For 20 years, John Cena devoted his life to being a hero for millions of WWE fans. He preached the ideals of hustle, loyalty, and respect, fought for good, and won 16 world championships along the way.
At Elimination Chamber on March 1, he altered the course of his career and potentially that of WWE when he sold his soul to The Rock and betrayed Cody Rhodes. The shocking conclusion to the premium live event set the stage for Cena to challenge Rhodes, a historic, potential 17th championship at stake.
As importantly, it provided WWE the ultimate heel around whom to build the highest profile match of the year.
Cena, the former beloved babyface, is now a hated heel threatening to take the top prize in professional wrestling, retire, and leave the company with no champion. "I will ruin wrestling for fans, for wrestlers, for everyone," he threatened on the March 24 episode of Raw.
This, one week after denouncing the fans for treating him like anything but a human being.
It remains to be seen whether Cena will etch his name in the history books as the recognized most decorated world champion in pro wrestling history, but one thing is for certain: the righteous hero turned self-righteous villain has been the injection of energy that WWE needed to enhance this road to WrestleMania 41.
Hail to The Queen

After missing WrestleMania 40 due to injury, Charlotte Flair returns to the grand stage in Las Vegas as the 2025 Royal Rumble winner challenges Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship.
It is a match-up between the tried and true Flair, already one of the greatest of all time in her field, and young upstart Stratton, who capped off a career-making year by chasing in Money in the Bank and defeating Nia Jax to claim the title on the first SmackDown of the year.
It is a potentially monumental opportunity for Stratton to establish herself as the future of women's wrestling by knocking off The Queen, but it also a chance for Flair to remind the world who the measuring stick is.
Regardless of the outcome, Flair has made a reputation for herself as one of the best big-match performers in WWE, as witnessed in her instant classic with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.
Can she dig deep and bring Stratton to her level, turning in another classic at the Showcase of the Immortals?
It certainly will not be for a lack of trying.
CM Punk's First WrestleMania Main Event?
3 of 4
CM Punk has accomplished all that there is to do in professional wrestling, with the exception of one important feat: competing in the main event of WrestleMania.
At this year's event, he will battle Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a Triple Threat Match that features plenty of history between the competitors, all of whom are top stars for WWE.
While there are other potential options to headline WrestleMania Saturday in the main event spot, including one world title match we will touch on in a moment, there is not more star-studded, red-hot match-up that can main event in Las Vegas and feel like a match befitting that spot on the card.
That there is mystery surrounding Paul Heyman's allegiances, and genuine animosity between all three competitors only makes it that much more intriguing and anticipated a match.
While it is not a championship encounter or a one-on-one showdown, only the aforementioned Cena and Rhodes could have made for higher-profile opposition than those era-defining stars he will share the ring with, presumably on April 19.
A New Champion

On four different occasions, Jey Uso has set foot inside the squared circle, challenged Gunther for championship gold, and fell just shy of defeating The Ring General and dethroning him.
After winning the Royal Rumble, he has momentum on his side and will try once more to defeat Gunther, this time winning the World Heavyweight Championship and proving himself to be a legitimate main event Superstar in WWE.
A career-long tag team wrestler with his twin brother, Jimmy, Jey spent years listening to fans ask, "which one are you." At WrestleMania in Las Vegas, he has the opportunity to answer emphatically by etching his name in the history books and standing alongside other family members to capture top prizes in WWE, including his cousin Roman Reigns and the late, great Yokozuna.
It will not be easy as Gunther is arguably the best pound-for-pound professional wrestler on the planet but Uso will have 70,000 strong behind him, rooting for him to do what was once considered impossible by shedding his "tag team wrestler" label and capturing the most coveted prize on Raw.
The time is now and Uso will finally pay of his long, arduous journey by cashing in on this opportunity and capturing the most significant victory of his career.
