WWE Elimination Chamber 2015: Best Possible Finish for Each Contest

James MoffatMay 31, 2015

For an event that was only announced a few weeks ago, WWE Elimination Chamber feels huge.

With four titles on the line, as well as a champion-versus-champion matchup of epic proportions, there’s a vibe surrounding this event that hasn’t been attached to anything since the Raw after Wrestlemania 31.

WWE has put on two so-so pay-per-views in Extreme Rules and Payback since the Showcase of the Immortals. While there were good matches in each, fans collectively shrugged their shoulders at the overall products. Elimination Chamber, on the other hand, feels fresh.

There was genuine concern when it was announced that there wouldn’t be enough time to either hype the show or build meaningful storylines. In less time than it takes to turn a WWE Diva from heel to babyface, however, WWE gave fans a card that will rival any pay-per-view in 2015.

How will WWE Creative book Sunday’s matches? Here’s a final look at the best possible finishes for each match on the card at WWE Elimination Chamber.

Neville vs. Bo Dallas

1 of 6

Back in their NXT days, Neville and Bo Dallas put on some great matches. There’s no doubt this should produce the same.

Dallas’ portrayal of an over-the-top heel in recent weeks is more suiting his in-ring style. It’s an angle he can definitely utilize to climb the midcard ladder. Neville is one of the most over wrestlers there is. His work against Seth Rollins and John Cena was stellar, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s wearing gold around his waist.

With Neville out of the Intercontinental Championship picture for the time being, this is a solid matchup between two wrestlers who know how to work with one another. Though Bleacher Report’s Donald Wood believes that Neville should be the clear favorite, he doesn’t need the win.

A pin by Dallas would extend this feud and could give Dallas the push he needs to be considered a real contender in the midcard.

Best Finish

After trading spots in the early going, Dallas begins to target Neville’s recently injured leg. Neville mounts some offense, hitting his signature kicks that noticeably pain his leg.

With Dallas stunned, Neville heads to the top rope for the Red Arrow but is slow because of the beating he’s taken. This gives Dallas the chance to hit the ropes, causing Neville to lose balance. Dallas capitalizes, hitting the Bo-Dog to steal the win.

Divas Championship Triple Threat Match

2 of 6

On one hand, this match has the potential to be much better than anyone is anticipating. It features three of the WWE Divas division’s top wrestlers in Paige, Naomi and Nikki Bella.

Recent matches between Naomi and Nikki on May 18’s episode of Raw and Paige and Naomi on May 28's edition of Smackdown have been better than some of the other recent TV-aired Divas matches.

On the other hand, these three are in the unfortunate situation of following up the amazing performances of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable.

No one should expect this match to outshine that one. But as long as these three women hit their spots—something that has plagued Naomi in particular in past matches—it could actually surprise viewers in terms of its competitiveness.

Bank on Nikki retaining the title here with a finish that gives all three Divas a chance to look strong and stake a claim to the belt.

Best Finish

For most of the match, Paige and Nikki work together to weaken Naomi. Paige and Nikki then start trading jabs. Paige hits the Paige Turner and covers Nikki, but Brie Bella distracts the referee.

Paige and Nikki continue fighting, and Paige knocks the champ out of the ring. Nikki is assaulted by Tamina, and Brie comes to help her sister.

Inside the ring, a now-recovered Naomi surprises Paige with a shot to the kidneys, allowing her to lock in the Slaymission. Paige taps out, but the referee doesn’t see it, given he’s tending to the fracas outside the ring. Naomi breaks the hold thinking she's won and argues with the referee after he said he didn’t see Paige tap.

Nikki comes from behind and stuns her before executing the Rack Attack for the win, retaining her WWE Divas title.

Tag Team Championships Elimination Chamber Match

3 of 6

Trying to figure out what will happen in this match is almost impossible.

There are still many details WWE hasn’t released about how this match will work. Does a pinfall eliminate both members of a tag team or only one? Will the match be a free-for-all, or a variation on a four-corners match?

Worst-case scenario: The sheer number of bodies in the ring make this a jumbled mess that no one can keep track of.

Best-case scenario: Fans will be jumping from their seats with 12 men in a ring surrounded by steel creating non-stop action and breathtaking spots.

Bet on the latter, and bet on the New Day to walk out of Elimination Chamber with their titles in hand.

Best Finish

Firstly, WWE should announce that once a single member is pinned or submits, the entire tag team is eliminated from the match.

The Lucha Dragons and the New Day start the match, with the Ascension, Los Matadores, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd and the Prime Time Players entering the chamber in succession.

With all 12 men finally in the chamber together, eliminations come in a flurry. Los Matadores, the Ascension and the Prime Time Players are ousted respectively.

Kofi Kingston is set up for the Cesaro Swing. Kidd is out of commission, so Kalisto fills in to hit the drop kick. After, Cesaro tries for his massive uppercut, but Kalisto reverses into the Salita Del Sol and pins Cesaro for the elimination.

After some back and forth, Kalisto hits Kingston with a senton from the top of a pod outside the ring. Meanwhile, Sin Cara attempts a dive from the top rope but is caught by Big E, who delivers his Big Ending.

Kalisto tries to make the save, but Xavier Woods is able to grab a hold of Kalisto’s ankle and stop him. The New Day retains the tag team titles.

Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber Match

4 of 6

The biggest question mark heading into WWE Elimination Chamber is the status of Rusev. Without the Bulgarian Brute, this match loses star power.

Rusev’s replacement, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), could be Bray Wyatt. Unlike adding Stardust, who would be considered no greater threat than R-TruthWyatt’s inclusion in the Elimination Chamber match could have major storyline ramifications.

While it was unlikely Rusev was to capture the belt, a superstar such as Wyatt would certainly be someone who could raise the credibility of this title. It would also guarantee we’d be seeing more Wyatt on TV programming. His appearances in recent months have amounted to little more than cryptic promos and the occasional pop in.

It still feels like we’re being set up for a Sheamus title run, however.

Best Finish

It is announced that Rusev is unable to compete. His pod will remain empty, leaving us with five competitors.

Ziggler and King Barrett start the match in the ring, followed by Sheamus and Ryback. Just as R-Truth gets ready for his pod to open, the lights go out. When they cut back on, Wyatt is standing in the middle of the ring and begins to take everyone out.

After R-Truth comes in, pinfalls begin. Barrett gets revenge on Truth with a Bullhammer and a pin. Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on Barrett and covers him. Sheamus then hits a Brogue Kick on Ziggler for another fall.

Sheamus and Wyatt double team Ryback, who is able to turn back Sheamus. Wyatt gains the upper hand on Ryback, setting up Sister Abigail. But before he can land it, Sheamus lands a Brogue Kick to Wyatt. Ryback covers Wyatt immediately for the elimination.

After some slams into the steel, Sheamus gains the upper hand and hits White Noise for the win and the Intercontinental Championship.

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

5 of 6

Seth Rollins might be the World Heavyweight champion, and Roman Reigns may be the future of the company, but make no mistake: John Cena is the face of WWE.

Wins and losses don’t matter with Cena any longer. All that matters to WWE is keeping him front and center, a larger than life figure who comes out on top in the end.

Since winning the United States Championship, Cena has made many of his opponents look strong during his open challenges. In the end, though, Cena has always come out looking stronger.

That can’t be the case on Sunday night.

Kevin Owens’ introduction to WWE was earth-shattering, and he’s only built upon that debut with more vitriol for Cena and his position in the wrestling annals. His interviews, his promos and even his attitude have been spot on. He is the best heel in the business, and he needs to go over big.

Cena will be made to look strong and probably be given the win over Owens in their match. But if there’s one thing to bet on at Elimination Chamber, it is that, win or lose, Kevin Owens will walk out of this match the victor.

Best Finish

Cena and Owens trade punches for much of this match. The action isn’t limited to the ring, as both men toss each other into ring steps, the apron, steel posts and ringside barricades.

Owens misses a senton bomb, which allows Cena to hit an Attitude Adjustment. When Owens kicks out at two, Cena continues on the offensive. Momentum eventually changes when Cena misses a Five-Knuckle Shuffle.

Owens becomes relentless, beating Cena and finally hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb. He connects a second time before trying to pin Cena, who kicks out. Owens tries for a third powerbomb, but Cena counters and attempts a second AA.

Owens blocks him, then hits Cena with a low blow. The referee calls for a disqualification. After the bell, Cena is battered by Owens, who hits him with another powerbomb and continues his attack on the champion. Additional referees can’t stop him. Finally, Triple H comes out from backstage and calms Owens down.

Reluctantly, Owens climbs out of the ring and heads backstage, but not before Triple H raises Owen’s arm in victory at the top of the ramp, with Owens hoisting the NXT title in the other.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the World Heavyweight Championship

6 of 6

Seth Rollins is walking out of Elimination Chamber with the WWE Heavyweight Championship. The only question is how we’re going to get to that ending.

Will there be interference? With Kane, J&J Security and Roman Reigns sure to be in and around the ring during this match, you can be sure of it.

Will there be plenty of action? Considering the history Rollins and Dean Ambrose have putting on great matches, both individually and together, you bet. We can only hope WWE lets Rollins hit the Phoenix Splash.

As Ryan Dilbert has written, Rollins is in desperate need of looking strong in a singles match. He’s in real danger of becoming a paper champion.

Sunday’s match against Ambrose can help change that. Sure, there will be some shenanigans, but giving Rollins the clean victory would do more to improve his standing as champion than it would hurt Ambrose’s as a top contender.

Unfortunately, that’s probably not the direction this match will go. Expect a referee to get knocked out, resulting in an all-out brawl that leads to the return of Big Show, who interferes on Rollins’ behalf.

Best Finish

The action is fast and fluid in the beginning, with neither man seemingly gaining the upper hand. After this back and forth, Ambrose takes the lead.

At this point, J&J Security distracts the referee, allowing Kane to neutralize Ambrose. Roman Reigns’ music hits, and he comes out from the crowd to stop Kane and J&J Security from doing further damage.

Rollins and Ambrose continue to trade moves, when Rollins finally gets Ambrose in position for the Pedigree. Ambrose counters, tossing Rollins and putting the champion on the ropes. After hitting Dirty Deeds, another distraction from J&J Security delays the referee. Eventually, Ambrose gets a two count before Rollins kicks out.

Ambrose starts getting agitated and loses control, grabbing a chair from the outside and heading into the ring. Roman Reigns stops him, knowing this would cost him the title. This provides enough of a distraction for Rollins to hit Ambrose from behind, which causes the chair to knock into Reigns, who falls to the floor.

Rollins hits the Pedigree on Ambrose to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
