Hoiberg Agrees to Deal with Bulls
Tuesday, June 2
The Bulls officially announced the hiring of Hoiberg today:
At a press conference announcing the news, Hoiberg commented on the Bulls roster, via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune: "I love this roster. I love the versatility of the players, the different lineups we're going to be able to play."
It's a five-year deal "worth nearly $25 million", reported Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports on June 1.
Hoiberg is a former NBA guard who spent four seasons with the Bulls during his 10-year playing career. He took the Iowa State job in 2010, and went 115-56 (.673) and made the NCAA tournament in four straight seasons.
The 42-year-old coach brings an intriguing offensive approach to the table. His Cyclones teams focused heavily on outside shooting and post play while taking few mid-range shots. They also played almost exclusively at a quick tempo.
