McClain Participates in Minicamp Walkthroughs
Tuesday, June 16
Mike Fisher of Fox Sports reported McClain was present and participating in the Cowboys' minicamp walkthroughs on Tuesday. Head coach Jason Garrett said that the linebacker wouldn't do anything "rigorous," according to Fisher. Minicamp represents the first team activities McClain has taken part in this offseason.
McClain was excellent for the Cowboys last year after taking a season away from the NFL, finishing with 81 tackles, two interceptions, a sack and a forced fumble in 13 games. The Cowboys rewarded him by signing him to an incentive-laden one-year contract that could earn him up to $3 million this season.
It's clear the Cowboys consider him an important part of the defense and want to see him thrive in Dallas after a rocky start to his NFL career, so the hope will be that his rehab from knee surgery goes smoothly and he is fully recovered shortly.
