WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for May 28
With only one show left before the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view exclusively on the WWE Network, the company taped this week's episode of SmackDown in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Tuesday night.
After a tumultuous Monday night that saw him told off by former manager Lana before gaining a measure of revenge by assaulting her new boy toy Dolph Ziggler right in front of her, Rusev made his final preparations for this weekend's extravaganza by battling one of the men who will oppose him in the intercontinental championship Elimination Chamber match Sunday night, Ryback.
The two have squared off with each other before, but with the Big Guy's ribs far from 100 percent and Rusev meaner and nastier than he has ever been, would Ryback even be able to provide the Bulgarian Brute with a legitimate challenge?

Analysis
The interjection of The New Day into the main event stands out as the most interesting of the occurrences at Tuesday's taping.
A few weeks back, the tag team championships referenced the term "authority" in a promo, but little was made of it by viewers or commentators. Perhaps that was done on purpose based on what happened to close out this week's show.
How that makes sense given the fact that Director of Operations Kane booked Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in a 10-on-3 Handicap match on Monday's Raw, not to mention booking them in an Elimination Chamber match on Sunday, is a mystery. Still, New Day is super over and if pairing them with The Authority will help elevate their star status, more power to them and the writers scripting them.
Owens' SmackDown debut serves as further proof that he is gaining momentum, not to mention the trust of management, heading into his huge match with Cena. The line about hurting Zayn and defying the audience to imagine what he would do to someone he does not care about like Cena is a money line and one that will surely ensure new WWE Network subscriptions.
Finally, the tag team match between The Lucha Dragons and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro has the makings of a show-stealing affair if given enough time. The teams have demonstrated some solid chemistry on the few occasions they have shared the ring. Given the talent of all teams involved, it should be no surprise to any fan tuning in if they deliver one of the best televised matches in weeks.
Again, that is dependent on the time they are given.
With a main event rematch from Raw, it would be understandable if fans concluded they could skip Thursday's show. Still, there is enough on the undercard to be interested in, making the broadcast a worthwhile watch.
