Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Sami Khedira and Radamel Falcao Rumours
After lifting the Premier League trophy on Sunday, Jose Mourinho might look towards two experienced campaigners to add weight to his squad with the potential signings of Sami Khedira and Radamel Falcao.
Jack de Menezes of the Independent writes that German World Cup star Khedira has confirmed his departure from Real Madrid and is available without a transfer fee—making him one of the most attractive free agents in world football.
De Menezes says Arsenal were to challenge the EPL champions for the midfielder's services, with the Gunners originally being favourites due to the increased chances of first-team football.

However, the rising stock of Francis Coquelin may now see Arsene Wenger pass on Khedira, leaving Chelsea to make their offer.

The player recently spoke about his final months at the Bernabeu to Marca, claiming he was "hurt" by the way the club treated him, per Sky Sports:
"I've always felt that I've had the coach's backing, but the message indirectly came through to me that I was no longer needed, I was frozen out and wouldn't have a chance to continue playing. It's not the end that I wanted. It hurts that I'm accused of a lack of professionalism because I've always put the team ahead of myself. I've always gone with the truth.
"
The German has played just 300 minutes of football this season, per WhoScored.com, and is in desperate need of a fresh arena.
Khedira's end at Madrid mirrors that of many players discarded by Los Blancos, and he will thrive in a new team. Chelsea would mirror the midfielder's style of play, and Mourinho's pragmatism would suit Khedira's passing game.
Chelsea to Gamble on Falcao?

Manchester United have confirmed Radamel Falcao will leave the club after the expiration of his loan period from Monaco, clearing the way for a possible shock move to Chelsea.
Alex Harris of the Daily Star reports United will not take up their £43.2 million option to sign the Colombian superstar, with the Blues targeting his potential capture.
Louis van Gaal publicly thanked El Tigre for his efforts in Manchester and wished him the best for his future career, per Harris: "Falcao is a top professional and a good human being. On behalf of myself and everyone at the club I would like to wish him well for the future."

The 29-year-old has surprisingly flopped at United this term, scoring just four times in 26 EPL appearances, per WhoScored. But there is no doubt that if the striker finds the right team to give him the right service, he will begin to find the back of the net once more.
Columnist and former coach Luis Fernando Montoya spoke about Falcao's recent plight and claimed the English game might have been the wrong challenge for the player after a serious knee injury last season, per Amy Lawrence of the Guardian:
"He has met a different footballing culture. A more vertical approach, epitomised by the coldness of the orders of his coach, as well as a more demanding league. These among other factors have made him react differently to the challenge. Maybe leading to some mental blocks, a loss of trust in himself, affecting his football.
"
If Falcao is happy with life on the bench, Chelsea would be a good option, as they are in the ascendancy and offer the London lifestyle so many players find irresistible. However, the striker is likely to opt for a club where he will be the primary talent, which takes Stamford Bridge out of the equation.
Khedira would also suffer similar issues with Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in front of him. Like Falcao, he has much to offer the correct team—but Chelsea may be the right club for him at the wrong time. He suits the Mourinho way, but achieving minutes will be difficult.
