Making the Case for Seth Rollins to Remain WWE World Champion Through 2015
Seth Rollins is the heel to beat in WWE. Triple H's protege has the most important piece of hardware in the industry, and he's fully living the role he's been given. He's the smarmy, overconfident and self-entitled WWE world heavyweight champion who's not afraid to tell you he's the best in the game.
With a heel like that at the helm, all is well in Vince McMahon's company, and there's no reason Rollins should lose the belt in 2015.
The former Shield architect is the right man to hold the championship. He has heat on him from the crowd, mostly because of his attitude and his ability to escape certain defeat so many times. Every time he's in trouble, he seems to find a way out and live to laugh at fans another day.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
All he does is laugh at fans, and they hate him for it.
He fills the primary heel spot not only for WWE but also for its top heel faction, The Authority. Rollins is masterful in his role, and he arguably does it better than Randy Orton did when he was by Triple H's side. From his promos to his work in the ring to his interviews backstage, everything Rollins does gets him over more, and he must surely be considered WWE's breakout star of the year.
So why change what works?
Why change what's working because Reigns likely has a title reign in his immediate future? Why change it because Orton is such a reliable commodity and can step back in if confidence in Rollins begins to fade? Why take the man believed to be the future and force him to take a step back because Brock Lesnar will be back this year?
That doesn't mean Rollins can't lose in 2016, though.
Specifically, Rollins can lose at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas. It's the best night for it to happen, the best night for his character to finally be outsmarted and for The Authority to finally be robbed of what it desires most: control of the title.
Lesnar is the man to take that title.
Lesnar will be seeking revenge when he returns, and that revenge stems from the fact that Rollins cashed in to win the belt at WrestleMania 31. The Beast Incarnate will surely be on Rollins' trail when he comes back, but that's no reason to take the strap off him this year.
The thrill of the chase is what's important here. Watching Lesnar on Rollins' trail, pursuing The Authority's golden boy, will have enormous entertainment value. Rollins would do everything he could to stay away from Lesnar but would not be able to keep him at bay for long.
However, if Lesnar is not meant to win the belt back at WrestleMania, then perhaps it will be Reigns' chance to finally go over.
A Reigns win would make perfect sense from a booking standpoint, as his year-long chase of the championship would finally come to a close at the expense of the man who ended The Shield. Rollins vs. Reigns could be the next great WrestleMania rivalry.
Regardless of the wrestler WWE would book to take the title from Rollins, it shouldn't happen this year. Rollins has been too good and has done too much work to be stopped now. The heat he's generating every time he's on TV or barely getting the win is growing and making his star rise by the day.
If Rollins is the future of WWE, then there's no better way to show it than by an old-school, lengthy title reign. It would prove the confidence the company has in him and showcase his ability to perform at a high level. He would have a year's worth of main event experience under his belt, and WWE would have a year's worth of title defenses to up the value the belt holds.
That title would be more important and more valuable because of it.
Rollins is a star who will help move WWE forward. If the company believes in him, then he will keep the championship for the duration of 2015. He's earned the spot he has, and WWE should be more concerned with building his legacy than moving on to the next champ.
This is Rollins' time to shine, and he's doing a great job. There's no reason to stop it now.
