The Temporary Reformation of The Shield

It happened in a flash. We were all just sitting there watching a standard Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, when suddenly Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns worked together as a team to powerbomb Randy Orton.

For a second, The Shield was back.

It only lasted for a moment, as Ambrose and Reigns then attacked Rollins before going to battle against each other, but for that period of time, we were taken back to the battles and marquee matches from one of the greatest stables in wrestling history, which ran roughshod over WWE.

Say what you want about the outcome of the match or Rollins as champion, but there is no denying the incredible moment the company created by letting the three top stars work together on the Triple Powerbomb.

I marked out for the temporary reformation of The Shield, and I’m fine with that.

Bray Wyatt vs. Ryback

There are many people who do whatever they can to discredit Bray Wyatt as an in-ring performer, but he proved everyone wrong by taking a matchup against Ryback that should have been nothing and turning it into something memorable.

Ryback is not a great worker in longer singles matches but looked strong due to Wyatt's ability to sell hard for his opponents. Add in plenty of unique and entertaining spots from Wyatt on offense—including the running senton off the apron—and this match was a strong midcard addition.

The hope now is that just as Reigns earned credit for showcasing improvement in the ring against Big Show at Extreme Rules, Wyatt’s performance against Ryback should earn credibility among the doubters.

The New Day and Kidd and Cesaro Steal the Show

The best match of the night for many fans was the tag team championship bout between The New Day and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. While Kidd and Cesaro were unsuccessful once again, the two teams were great in the ring and worked one of the best matches on the card.

In the ring, Kidd, Cesaro, Kofi Kingston and Big E put on an incredible show. Regardless of which two men battled at a time, they all showed great chemistry, and the moments they created were memorable.

While the match didn’t mean much after the announcement that one of the Elimination Chamber matches will be for the tag team championships, all of the participants—and even Xavier Woods and Natalya—made this one of the best moments of the night.
