USMNT Watch: Jozy Leaves TFC Match with Injury, Transfer Rumors Start to Swirl
Fans of the United States men's national team held their collective breath on Saturday night when one of the USMNT's top players pulled up with a hamstring injury.
Forward Jozy Altidore exited Toronto FC's 1-1 draw with the New England Revolution in the 21st minute after he picked up an injury following a run into the final third.
On the other side of the pond, a few transfer rumors began to swirl about some of the top players in the USMNT talent pool.

We have those two topics covered in depth and a recap of how some of the top Americans performed across the globe this week in the latest USMNT Watch.
Altidore Suffers Hamstring Injury
In a match that featured a handful of USMNT regulars and fringe players, Altidore suffered a hamstring injury midway through the first half.
"I don't have a real indication of how bad it is or how long it will take for Jozy. But when I saw him he looked positive," Toronto head coach Greg Vanney said after the match, per an official club release.
The team stated Altidore would undergo a scan on Sunday after the Reds return from their trip to Massachusetts.
If the injury does appear to be serious, the Yanks have a few options at the position to replace him. Aron Johannsson, Gyasi Zardes, Chris Wondolowski, Charlie Davies, Juan Agudelo, Jordan Morris and Bobby Wood all have a chance to feature if Altidore stays on the bench for an extended period of time.
Speaking of Johannsson, who would be the top candidate to replace Altidore, he delivered two goals and an assist on Sunday for AZ Alkmaar.
Guzan, Bedoya Linked in Transfer Reports
The last few weeks have been rough on USMNT first-choice goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who was relegated to the bench after a shocking performance against Manchester City.
According to Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl, Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has made inquiries about acquiring a goalkeeper in the summer.
If that report turns out to be true, Guzan could be on the search for a new club. While it's too early to speculate on potential landing spots for Guzan, one has to think he'll still have plenty of interest in Europe due to his international standing.

Another report from Wahl this week stated Alejandro Bedoya has interest from clubs in the Bundesliga and English Premier League. This should not come as a surprise given the midfielder's form for club (for FC Nantes) and country.

If he were to move to either league, Bedoya would expose himself more to USMNT fans on a weekly basis since both top flights have major television contracts with American broadcasters entering the 2015-16 campaign.
Wondolowski Nets 99th MLS Goal
In the 55th minute of the San Jose Earthquakes' 2-0 victory over the Columbus Crew, Wondolowski scored his 99th career goal in Major League Soccer.
Although he receives plenty of criticism for his lack of productivity for the Yanks, the forward has been one of the top players at his position in MLS over the last five years.
Michael Bradley found the back of the net on an impressive individual run in the 53rd minute of Toronto's draw with New England.
Juan Agudelo scored the opener at Gillette Stadium for the Revolution. He has three goals in 11 matches for the Revs this season.
Jermaine Jones left the contest after 63 minutes, but that change from manager Jay Heaps was made to preserve the midfielder for Wednesday's clash with Sporting Kansas City.
Elsewhere in MLS, Mix Diskerud, Kyle Beckerman, Jordan Allen, Luis Gil, Nick Rimando and Sacha Kljestan all earned starts for their respective sides.
Clint Dempsey recorded an assist in the Seattle Sounders' 2-0 road victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Howard, Cameron Continue to Earn Playing Time in EPL
Tim Howard, who will return to the Yanks this fall after a year off, made two saves in Everton's 2-1 win over West Ham United on Saturday. The Toffees moved up to 10th place in the Premier League table with the victory.

Geoff Cameron started and played 90 minutes in Stoke City's 0-0 draw at Turf Moor against Burnley. The Potters are four points ahead of Everton in ninth.
DeAndre Yedlin was once again named to the Tottenham Hotspur bench, but he did not see any game action. Bleacher Report's Alex Dimond caught up with Yedlin this week and chatted with the young player about the adjustment process to the Premier League.
Johnson Secures Champions League Group-Stage Qualification
At least one American will be playing in the 2015-16 edition of the UEFA Champions League.
Fabian Johnson's Borussia Monchengladbach clinched their spot in the group stage of next year's competition by way of a 2-0 road triumph over Werder Bremen.
By locking up no worse than third position in the Bundesliga table, Borussia Monchengladbach earned their first trip to the Champions League in 37 years, as soccer scribe Cristian Nyari noted:
Timothy Chandler and John Brooks both continued their preparation for the CONCACAF Gold Cup with starts for Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha Berlin, respectively.
Another American will be playing in the German top flight next season, as Alfredo Morales and Ingolstadt secured promotion on Sunday.
Zelalem Joins Up With U20 Squad
How big was the news of Gedion Zelalem's official commitment to the United States?
It was big enough to draw a tweet from U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati, who as you can tell doesn't take to Twitter much.
Zelalem is expected to meet up with the USMNT U20 squad in Australia as the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand starts May 30.
