WWE Payback 2015: Champions Who Will Continue Their Reign
The 2015 edition of WWE’s Payback pay-per-view is Sunday night, and several champions will continue their reigns through at least Elimination Chamber.
From Seth Rollins likely retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to The New Day once again defending the WWE Tag Team Championships, several belts will not change hands Sunday.
Here are the champions who will successfully retain their gold at WWE Payback 2015.

Seth Rollins
Despite WWE’s best efforts to convince the fans that Rollins could drop the world title at Payback in a Fatal 4-Way against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, the fans know he will successfully retain.
The key is Brock Lesnar. As unquestionably the biggest draw in the company right now, Lesnar needs a marquee match and will want to get his hands on the world title. Rollins and Lesnar have legitimate beef, and that is the match the WWE should want at SummerSlam.
To get Rollins vs. Lesnar at SummerSlam for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the champion needs to walk out of Payback with the title. While Reigns, Orton and Ambrose will get the chance to shine, Rollins must retain the belt heading into Elimination Chamber.
The New Day
Surprisingly, one of the most entertaining parts of WWE programming each week has been the slow-played heel turn of The New Day. They have welcomed the gimmick, and the result has been fun to watch.
While Kofi Kingston still is learning to play a heel, Xavier Woods and Big E have embraced the characters and are thriving. With Kingston and Big E carrying the brunt of the workload in the ring, the three-man stable is getting legitimate heat from the fans.
The WWE announced that the Elimination Chamber PPV would feature a tag team version of the match, which indicates the outcome of Payback means nothing. The New Day should retain against Kidd and Cesaro but go on to lose the belts at the end of the month.
Nikki Bella
I understand that Nikki Bella is not defending the Divas Championship at Payback, but this is as good a place as any to vent the frustration with this division. As someone who witnessed Sasha Banks and Charlotte main event a show in Philadelphia, I believe the continued lack of support for the Divas is inexcusable.
Whether or not you like the Bella Twins or the other women on the roster, several can actually wrestle when they get the chance. Instead of the WWE throwing together yet another meaningless tag team match, though, Nikki should be facing Naomi one-on-one.
Anyone who watches NXT, TNA or even Lucha Underground on a weekly basis sees women being portrayed strong in wrestling with legitimate storylines. If WWE truly wanted to make wrestling fans happy, officials behind the scenes would have listened to the #GiveDivasAChance movement already.
