Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Diego Godin Rumours
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in once again raiding Atletico Madrid, as he is attempting to sign Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Diego Godin.
Simon Jones of the MailOnline reports that Atletico are "reluctant to sell" Griezmann. His current buyout clause is set at £43.5 million, but the Rojiblancos believe they have set this "too low," according to Jones' article.
Spanish publication El Confidencial (h/t Charles Perrin of the Express) conflicts this story by suggesting Jorge Mendes, Griezmann's agent, "is confident of sealing a £35 million deal for his client."

Jones believes that Chelsea are also "particularly" interested in Koke and Diego Godin, with the latter "most likely" to be sold. It is suggested a fee of £18 million would see the Uruguayan centre-back move on.
Mourinho signed Diego Costa and Filipe Luis from Atletico last summer, with on-loan goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois returning to Stamford Bridge after his three-year loan spell at the Vicente Calderon.
Costa has scored 19 Premier League goals in an injury-plagued season, while Courtois has remained the Blues' No. 1 stopper, ousting club hero Petr Cech from the team. Luis has made just eight Premier League starts throughout the title-winning campaign, per WhoScored.com.

Both Griezmann and Koke would be excellent signings for Chelsea, particularly with the future in mind. The former has scored an impressive 22 goals in La Liga this season, while Koke's crafty midfield play often allows Atletico to unlock stubborn teams. At 24 and 23 years old respectively, they are both on the brink of reaching their peak years.
Godin is far more experienced at 29. His signing would likely aid John Terry and Gary Cahill's workload, but could also halt Kurt Zouma's progression. Mourinho has played the 20-year-old in defence eight times this campaign and twice in defensive midfield, per WhoScored.com.
However, the boss doesn't intend on regularly placing Zouma in the middle. "He is not a midfield player," said Mourinho, per ESPN. "He is not going to be a midfielder. That is completely clear. It's not his future."
With this in mind, signing Godin makes little sense. Terry may be 34, but he's posted an excellent season and shows no sign of letting his leadership role slip. Cahill's place is perhaps under the biggest threat heading into the new campaign. B/R UK's Garry Hayes recently discussed potential signings for Chelsea this summer:
Atletico boss Diego Simeone will likely be sick of losing his top players, particularly to the Premier League. Chelsea's title-winning defence and attack have been led by the Atletico stars of last season who played a major role in their La Liga triumph.
Inevitably, as the summer approaches, Mourinho is once again being linked to Atletico's most talented individuals. Whether or not he'll act remains to be seen.
